RR has lost the team
I blame everyone except harris, the owners, howeĺl, and the players who are still working their tails off.

Rivera did nothing to change the culture at all. After 4 years, he might get 1 more win in year 4 than the team he inherited.

As for EB, I am ready to move on. He is better than Turner, but i have seen what I need to see. I am not saying he will never be a head coach in the league or be successful, but I would like someone else as the head coach.

I think some posters here viewed EB as the savior of the team. One poster wanted EB to be a GM for the team. Some even want harris to promote EB to head coach immediately at the end of the season without conducting a single interview. Why?

What has EB done to merit the job? If the new GM interviews all candidates and hires him, fine, but I have to believe there are better candidates who have done statistically better than EB. We are a little over 1 point a game better this year and we are 19th in the league in points per game. I would not be surprised if we end up with identical offensive numbers as last year once we finish out our schedule
Howell has played well in most games, but the production as a whole is not their and the numbers say that.

Perhaps eb needs another year and perhaps he needs a much better OLine? I dont know. I like the guy but I don't think he is it. Just my 2 cents.

I don’t know. I think you are being a bit harsh on EB. His offense is a good one that suits Sam perfectly. He has had some hiccups in play calling, but it is his first time. And our Oline does suck. I’m sure there are plays that he can’t call because he can’t trust is line to execute.

having said this , Eric isn’t Ready to be a HC. He will be under contract next year so he isn’t going anywhere unless the new HC fires him.

2022- 222 yards passing/game, 126.1 rushing, 18.5 ppg

2023- 278 yards passing/game, 96 rushing/game, 20.5 ppg

EB also has a far worse OL than 2022.

Numbers are close but I am showing 247 passing a game per ESPN for 2023.

I am showing 18.9 per game for 2022 as well with 204 passing a game.

Small differences of course.

Yes, EB does have a worse line in 2022. My point is that we are currently 20th in 2023 (20.5) and we finished 24th in 2022 (18.9). Keep in mind that we have some of the most difficult games in our schedule left and I fully expect us to finish in the low 20's after we play some of these teams (MIA, SF, DAL). Do these numbers mean that EB MUST be our next head coach without interviewing a single other candidate? Also, do these numbers mean that we need to make EB an assistant GM as has been suggested? I do not think they do.

EB has done ok at this point given the numbers I just showed. My point is that he is NOT the savior of the team that some claimed he would be and that he should NOT be hired the second week 17 is over by Harris without any type of an official search being done.

I think he has done "fine" as the OC in his first year. I do not think he has done bad by any means. I actually do not mind him as an OC all things considered.

My problem was with the mentality that EB should be an assistant GM with offensive personal authority in free agency and draft. I also never thought EB would help get us a wiining season and into the playoffs. Also, I don't think EB should automatically be hired on Black Monday without interviewing another candidate. I also completely disagree with the idea that Harris needs to make the decision immediately prior to a GM or President being in place. I am confused at the notion that EB and Howell MUST not be separated at all. All of these points have been brought up by posters over the past few months. Skinsdad and others can vouch for this.

Again, if folks want to believe those things I stated, that is fine. That doesn't mean it makes sense or is not confusing.

I don't believe I am being harsh at all with EB. I just don't want him to be an assistant GM and our next HC no questions asked. If the GM hires him...fine...but I don't think Harris needs to have a knee jerk reaction and offer EB the job less than 24 hours after the season ends with no GM in place. Again, maybe I am crazy and EB needs to be the GM/HC? Just my 2 cents.

Sometimes they take away yards for sacks in the passing game. Last season, we also had defensive TDS.

EB has brought one thing we need…accountability.

For those of you who want to put a lot on the players not liking a coach who insists on his players doing the little things at a high level, are accountable for the work that they do in practice and in live games or want them to work hard, consider this from a former Gibbs disciple. (Paraphrasing)

"We really didn't care, we'd come to the line of scrimmage and tell those guys that we're going to run the play right over there and it didn't matter because we knew that they couldn't do anything to stop us."___ Rick Doc Walker

This is the thing to me , which players are bad mouthing their coach ? Are they the slugs ? Or is it the so called leaders?

There are very few productive players on this team
