That Tanev surgery will be a 4 to 6 month recovery time I read earlier today. Tkachuk likely hurt his hand in that fight with Klingberg in the Dallas series. A team that was pretty healthy during the regular season got hit with the injury bug at the wrong time (not an excuse, just bad luck).

Probably shouldn't have been playing at all against the Oilers, but that's the type of guy Chris Tanev is. I hope surgery goes well and he's ready to join the Flames in either October or November.

I dunno. Is him playing half-broken and jeopardizing his future really all that helpful to either the team or himself?

Usually even a sub-replacement level player is a better option than a guy who’s completely fucked.

Yeah, to be a fly on the wall when that convo between Tanev and Sutter happened. I'd like to think that the doctors informed Tanev since he's having surgery that he can't really do much more damage to it at this point so if he wants to play, go ahead.
