So, it's still early, but Dominik Simon is showing good wheels, but no hands.

/Of course, that's still better than no wheels and no hands Lucic.

My lukewarm take - The team hasn't been all that bad, but all that matters are the results in the standings. As I posted in the other thread, things go look very different (good or bad) after the next 12 games.

Disclaimer: Eric Francis

Here’s the craziest thing about Sam Bennett’s trade request. It never happened.

Bennett has not asked the Calgary Flames to trade him.

Several sources inside the club told Sportsnet.ca team management was blindsided Saturday by Elliotte Friedman’s second period report that cited Bennett’s agent, Darren Ferris, as saying his client would like a “change of scenery.”

No one inside the organization is questioning Friedman’s reporting. But everyone is questioning how a certified agent could think this is an appropriate way to try effecting positive change for his client.

This isn’t to suggest Bennett isn’t contemplating whether the grass could be greener elsewhere. Clearly his agent didn’t just make this up.

It just wasn’t properly communicated to the team.

Now, by virtue of his agent’s move, he’d be much harder to trade

BULLLLL-SHIIIIT

His value is what his value is. Nothing an agent does is going to change that. In fact, we just saw an agent bitching in public create a bidding war. If Sam is available, the teams that missed on PLD will be calling. Montreal and Anaheim especially. They are in the exact same place that led them to offer for PLD in the first place. Bennett won't return the same, but he will land something valuable.

The funny thing is if Sam Bennett keeps playing like he did Saturday night against the Habs, I don't want him traded. He was probably the 3rd best Flames player after Markstrom and Gaudreau (and only because Johnny had the GWG).

The Flames traded Dougie Hamilton basically because he didn't fit in the dressing room and now they want to trade for a poor man's Dougie Hamilton who recently got punched in the face by his goalie and had his entire team turn on him?
