Seems weird that they would have gone aggressively after Edler. The Flames have quality and depth on the blueline. Doesn't seem like an area that they should have prioritized.

Yeah but Vali is not even a roster player at this point. Maybe Andersson was gonna be the one heading to Ottawa? It made the most sense to me.

This is the team canucks asked edler to waive his ntc for on Saturday (alledgedly). Looks like they tried to work on an extension up to deadline monday

The funny thing is that Andersson is the guy the Flames drafted with the pick they got from Vancouver in the Baertschi trade. He's been very good this season for Calgary.

I should add that it wouldn't surprise me if Treliving re-visits some of these potential trades in the off-season. Reports are he was white hot that the Zucker trade with the Wild didn't go through.

I know. He's an excellent player who should get even better. He's who I wanted from the Flames because he's a righty. I can see the Flames not wanting to give him up.
