from the story above
Organ Project raised $991,708 in 2018
$779,464 went to fundraising costs (you're doing it wrong)
$238,118 went to management /admin costs (you're criminal)
$5,000 went to actual charity goals.

fuck right off

the "charity" shut down with a $190,000 working capital deficit, which means some people didn't get paid.
hopefully it's the crooks at the top and not the event workers, suppliers, etc.

on the brighter side, people step up

I know its the offseason and they have plenty of RFAs to sign, but dear Lawd how can the Sens only have 9 players on their active roster? And only 27 total under contract??

Who do they think they are, the Sabres? (11 and 25 respectively)

The Sens are currently $22M under the cap floor, and that includes almost $5M of buyout cap.

Honestly, they're doing very good under the rebuild and they stand to come out looking very good out of this draft one way or another (either loaded with prospects or with talent traded for using their bevy of picks).

The money thing is just such a question mark though. I'm wondering if the league might just give Melnyk some cash to spend on players to start making the team look good with an aim to having a pretty good roster to sell along with the franchise in a year or two.

Buying out Ryan doesn't make a tonne of sense to me. He was done in two years when they would start to be competitive. Now they pay (and get cap hit) for 4 years. And now they need to get someone to reach the floor. It'll be someone weird with a bonus already paid or Marian Hossa. And it doesn't even save drunk uncle Euge much money.

I get the need to clear a roster spot for one of the many good prospects the team has, but they'll need a veteran, or two, too. Plus add in that Bobby had actually become kind of a PR win for the team with his Masterton and it's classic Melnyk shite.
