Neither of them are worth that much. Rust's value is his ability to play with Malkin or Crosby but not a player you pay that much for.

Friedman handles the D well and carries some offensive value. Not sure what Marino brings. Seems to be Maata version 2.0

If Marino can bring back good top 6 forward value you make the deal but not sure Friedman could fill 20+ minutes a game, every night.

Even then they have to play him. At this point he hasn't proven he could withstand 20+ minutes a game.

Let me preface this season. Future POJ can be that player but they will need a short-term replacement going into the playoffs and if POJ isn't already playing then a top 6, in the playoffs, with Ruhwedal and Friedman is scary.

I get it was the second game back to back but DeSmith was weak in net. Positive though in the playoffs if they need to use him the shootout won’t happen. Not sure he can stop a shout-out goal.

Saving them last night, to at least get a point, was the fact Anderson was worse than DeSmith.
