Really, I don't find it confusing at all - He's just pretty much an attention seeking dooshbag.

It is rather funny seeing so many spins on "but why can't he cross-check someone in the face?"

Sad, but funny.

Oilers outshot the Caps 32-14, Skinner put up a sparkling .786 save percentage on the night.

It's hilarious that somehow Oilers media and fans are framing this as Garland needs to face retribution for...holding McDavid down and then getting cross-checked in the head?!?

I also saw some people suggesting that the Canucks should put out their own statement regarding Myers being suspended that reads that they fully accept the league decision to suspend Tyler. "He cross-checked an opposing player in the face"

The thing is I wouldn't care if Matt Barnaby attended Trump's inauguration because it would be so on brand for him. And to be honest, maybe I shouldn't care because Gretzky has lived the majority of his life in the United States, his kids are American and that's all well and good. The part that bothers me though is he still wants to be recognized as a true blue Canadian and get all the attributes associated with that. It's along the same lines as American travelers abroad that put Canadian flags on their luggage, they want to be treated as Canadians because of the reputation that Canada has worldwide.

Of course, attending LIV golf events and helping to sport wash Saudi Arabia, doing gambling commercials for MGM not recognizing how many young adults are developing gambling problems, and being a fervent supporter of Donald Trump who is a grave threat not only to Americans, but to the entire world as well doesn't exactly embody the Canadian spirit to me. We have troops in place in various places around the globe trying to keep the peace and help out best they can and Gretzky is there chumming it up with a guy that is actively doing his best to hurt/attack NATO allies.

Wasn't expecting McDavid to have the most reasonable take in all this, but here we are.

Short answer: it's disappointing when someone you looked up to turns out to be a cvnt
Moreso when he represented your country for so long.

I lost all respect for Gretzky in Nagano when he didn’t override Marc Crawford and hop on the ice for the shootout.

Meh, he probably wouldn't have scored, he was on his last legs in '98.

Case in point, he didn't score in Nagano in 6 games (four assists)
