That's almost 5 a game. I don't think that is the 410 goals they had in mind.

Of course, the Ducks are hammering the Flames tonight to take plenty of wind out of my sails.

Any Ladislave Smid trade rumors? I figure between Lowebellini & Howson a team might be able to get him for a 5th round pick.

Wait, how did I miss this?

Anybody catch the latest episode of 'Oil Change' - I really enjoyed the smirks on the bench/dressing room after the Oil destroyed the Flames 8-2 and Tambellini was saying that no changes were needed to the Oilers roster.

Stats don't lie (from the Jones article):

Last year the Oilers were 32-40-10 for 74 points after the full 82-game schedule. That’s .451. This year they’re 16-18-7 for 39 points in 41 games. That’s .476.

Last year the Oilers were 22nd at five-on-five hockey at 0.91. This year they’re 27th at 0.81.

Last year they were third on the power play at 20.6%. This year they’re fifth at 21.8%.

Last year the Oilers were 14th on penalty killing at 82.4%. This year they’re ninth at 83.8.

Last year Edmonton was 27th on face-offs at 47.7%. This year they’re 30th at 46.1.

It’s the same with almost all the stats.

No significant improvement.

Or how about this:

Lowe brings on Brian Burke as the new GM and they kiss and make up in front of all the cameras reinforcing the "You Can Play' initiative that the NHL/NHLPA signed on for last week.

I don't get it. Why fire him now?

Why not either before the trade deadline or after the season is over?

Either way you look at it, I hope Pegula is watching and learns something from it.
