Yeah, it certainly looked much more positive. And remember, we have Kukan, Nutivaara and Foligno to return yet and Vanek hasn't arrived either.

Murray baby sat Johnson well, and Cole looked great alongside Savard. I also liked how Letestu was out there often in the classic "Dubi role". Late faceoffs and PK.

Did you catch the in between 1 and 2 interview with Letestu? Rimer said later he got choked up talking about how happy he was to be back and how him and his wife bought a house here and he lives here in the offseason. I didn't know that. Didn't see the interview either. The look on his face when he scored was pure effing joy.

So, a fully healthy roster should/could look something like this:
Vanek - Dubois - Panarin
Atkinson - Wennberg - Bjorkstrand
Foligno - Letestu - Anderson
Calvert - Dubinsky - Milano

Hannakeinen, Sedlak waiting. Dang. And really substitute any winger anywhere in that lineup depending on situation.

Jones - Werenski
Murray - Nutivaara
Cole - Savard
Kukan - Chorney if needed.

Johnson and Harrington refilling water bottles between periods.

I will take it. With Philly, Wash and Pitt all bashing each others' heads in down the stretch it could be good. If we survive the WC matchup (please don't be TB, please don't be TB) we could compete against any Metro team with that lineup.

And the bald Finnish fuckwit made it happen without losing a single quality NHL asset. Jeebus.
I was at the game... Didn't see the interview. I had heard they bought a house in the area (during some of the chatter about the trade). When there was talk about Visa issues, and him maybe missing the game, I thought it was wierd because 1) he has house here and 2) he already "works" in the US when they travel to US cities. I'm not a work visa expert, though.

It probably has to do with whether he had a visa to work for a certain "company". If his employer was the Oilers, they probably had a time to wait to get it transferred to the Jackets.

He's aggressive, but small. He has decent wheels, but he doesn't have the size or strength to take most people off the puck, or keep it if a big guy comes after it. But it doesn't stop him from trying. In open space he can make plays, but he doesn't seem to be in open space a lot. Chicago was high on him, but in the Jackets style of game it just wasn't working.

Comparable to me is Matt Calvert. Honestly expected him to be the Jackets replacement for Calvert. Bottom six forward all day long. Will not get much above that.

Josh Anderson out 4 weeks with a lower body injury.

Here's the hit.

Orlov is old school. What a beauty of a hip check. I can't hate him for that.

Foligno activated off injured reserve. Good news, provided they aren't rushing him back because of Anderson being out. Vanek should be with the team tonight too.

Lines at practice:
F1: Panarin - Dubois - Atkinson
F2: Vanek - Wennberg - Foligno
F3: Bjorkstrand - Dubinsky - Milano
F4: Jenner - Letestu - Calvert

I cannot complain about that. Maybe woudl rather see Test Tube and lap dog swapped, but hey. What can you do?

Also, Vitaly Abramov just became the leading Euro born scorer in QMJHL history with his 283rd point in 179 games. He should make the team next year.

If that 3rd line had a good center they'd be dangerous
Glad Jenner is buried on the 4th line

Jackets lines at San Jose:

Panarin - Dubois - Atkinson
Milano - Foligno - Bjorkstrand
Jenner - Wennberg - Vanek
Calvert - Dubinsky - Letestu

Yes, Dubinsky is 4th line. Against Anaheim, he got around 10 minutes. He's been averaging almost 20.

Jackets have chased Jones. Up 3-0 in the second.

Decent effort, but a few pieces need to come back. Nutivaara and Kukan need to come back and Savard and Johnson need a time out.

And I wouldn't mind seeing Sedlak and Hannakeinen in place of Dubinsky and Calvert.

By contrast, Zach Werenski is good.

Just set the franchise record for goals by a defenseman with his 13th.

Three times so far.

And there will be a LMAFO gif soon. Ian Cole's goal was... not Fleury's finest.

Korpisalo is still a crazy legged nutball, but he seems to have settled down some.

Ian Cole has played Vegas 3 times this year and has scored on Fleury in each game.

It was kind of funny. Everyone laughed when Karlsson whiffed on a shot and fell down, then about half the people realized it was him and stopped.

Great win. Too bad TB couldn't seal the deal in regulation.

Thomas Vanek has arrived. Two so far and one quick whistle away from maybe a third.

So sports talk radio tomorrow will praise the trade they slammed as a waste today.
