I gotta point the finger more at Torts (but then Gillis didnt really try and change Torts behaviour ... well he tried to make him come in for game day skates )

I dont think it was really reported on but Garrrrrrry Valk was in the cesspool last week and said what Torts was saying publically to media and what he was telling his players in the room and at the bench were 2 different things ... Valk spoke specifically about dmen jumping into the play ... how Torts would tell the media that he wasnt holding anyone back ... that when there was time and space he encouraged his d to jump into the rush

meanwhile if it happened in a game he would tear a strip off "the dman" and tell him he wants him to get back and block shots (i think Valk was specifically talking about the treatment Alex Edler got from Torts)

Torts had zero trust in some players and zero players had trust in Torts
