Now they just said that Quincey went to the locker room too.

Didn't see what, if anything, happened to him.

My take: if it's something extremely serious the medical staff moves a bit quicker. I think the spineboard was precautionary, as it usually is. That said, with that mechanism you HAVE to consider fracture, but based on their reaction, I'm pretty sure he's stable and okay for the most part.

All in all, I can't be disappointed in the way the Jackets have played, except for Bob in the first two minutes.

Twitter report says he never lost consciousness. Huh. Not that this is necessarily a good thing. In fact studies have shown that in regards to concussions, those who lose consciousness heal faster...it's sort of similar to a computer overheating. It's better to just restart it than to try to let the fan do its work.

After watching the video from the Wings feed...I'm a bit more hopeful he avoided any fracture. No way he avoided a concussion though, not with that double whammy. Probably got a little whiplash too (which with that neck pain they'll definitely board him).

Anisimov was falling, but Quincey jumped at him. Hardly just a "freak accident".

I'd guess Quincey's "Lower Body Injury" is a trickle of piss down his leg knowing how hard Boll was coming after him.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of that from Quincey. Certainly was trying to hit him, not sure with the elbow...but he hit a guy in a vulnerable position.

The next time the Red Wings have a roster full of healthy players will be in the offseason.

Detroit's D continues to amaze me each game... You'd think they would improve and learn off some mistakes. Too soft and always leave someone in front of the net. Be aggressive when you don't have the puck and be conservative when you do, just dont stand around. Lashoff and Brunner wen't for same guy at the end to leave the 3rd man wide open on the door step. Howard had a mediocre game, didn't stop any memorable shots... but I guess you can't blame him when people are constantly just waiting to be fed the puck in front of the net.

Might have watched my last Wings game for awhile. This team's just not worth watching at the moment.

Anisimov stayed in the hospital overnight, is coming home to Columbus today. He is stable, able to move and never technically lost consciousness.

No official word, but if they kept him overnight, I'd say he's probably concussed pretty bad.

Good on the Jackets for staying focused and coming back for the win. I have mixed emotions about not making someone answer the bell for Quincey. But what can you do? Bottom line is Quincey saw he was coming in, leaned in to hit him even though he was defenseless and caught him in the face with an elbow (twice if you count falling on him WWE style) and put him in the hospital. I am waiting, Mr Shanahan. Quincey has no history of shit like that. Send the message now that he doesn't want a history of doing shit like that.

On the Jackets broadcast they had a shot of JD near the bench, he looked like he was going to chew through the glass to get out there. JD Got up and sprinted down to be ice side.

Also wondering if the league is going to have anything to say about Tootoo stepping in and breaking Dorsett's nose when he was fighting Ericksson.

Shanny?

I dont really see the intent that you see with the Quincey hit. It looked to me that his leg either gaev out or was knocked out from underneath him. A person's first reaction when falling is to stick their arms out...I dont think he tried to give him a forearm shiver to the head.

I think that is the 7th time we have blown a two goal lead...something needs to change. Jimmah needs an exorcism...one game he looks amazing and the next mediocre at best. Now it isnt just his fault but he is the last line of defense and it is ultimately up to him.

Of course you don't.

When I am falling, and put my hands out to catch myself they go downward. Towards the ground. Where I am falling. Not parallel to the ground I am falling towards.

And of course, they wouldn't still be parallel to the ground when I actually hit it. With a man's face under them.

He made contact with Anisimov's face before his legs were ever contacted to take him off balance. He had every intention of hitting Anisimov who was already off balance. Quincey just made contact with his face instead of his chest. As Anisimov is coming in, you see Quincey look towards him.

When I'm falling my arms go out to try and catch something...if nothing is there I then try to brace my fall.

im not saying he didnt hit him...im saying I dont think he intended to maliciously hit him. The fact that his head was driven into the ice was the freak accident part of the contact. If you say he tried to hit him in the chest how can you say he tried to hit him in the head?

He wasn't thinking "I can give him a concussion" but he was thinking "I can hit a defenseless player". That fact alone = bad decision.

The outcome was far worse than the intent, but there was intent to hit a player who was already engaged with a check by another player. If it was Matt Cooke or Cal Clutterbuck where Quincey was - the league would be all over it. Hell, if it was Derek Dorsett, I'd expect the league to act. But it was Quincey, the victim was a Blue Jacket and the head of discipline has a cup with Detroit. Nothing will happen.

And I expect the Jackets to ice a five man group of Colton Gillies, Derek Dorsett, Derek MacKenzie, David Savard and Jared Boll the next time Quincey steps on the ice in Columbus.
