I have always liked Kaepernick, and I think his abilities have been completely lost in the collapse of the 49ers .. Kaepernick wears #7 for a reason, and Elway has had good things to say about him all through out his career ..

Hall of Fame QB John Elway: 'I've Always Liked Colin Kaepernick'

I do like Brock, but I really like Kap, and if history tells us anything, it is that John Elway will stop at nothing to keep this team a Super Bowl contender - not to mention pulling out all the stops and making huge acquisitions ..

What do you think ??

How about a trade involving Kap and Demaryius Thomas ?

I do have reservations about Chip Kelly, as it seems Kaepernick fits what he wants ... Then again, so does Oz

I actually like the idea. I do know at the Combine today the GM for the 49ers said that they are keeping Kaepernick. Now that could be just trying to drive up his price say in a trade. Then again I don't see any team wanting to trade with his contract in place.

I think the 9ers should, and will, keep him and see how he fares with Chip and a fresh start in a new system.

If you look at the 49ers they are sitting very pretty Cap Wise even with Kaepernick. They have $55.2 million in cap space. Kaep looks like a good fit with Kelly so might as well just test him out for a year and then see what happens. If he does well then you have him signed for a while and if not he is on a team friendly deal where you can cut him next year with less than $5 million in dead money.

The 49ers really don`t have much of a choice anyway with their situation. You keep Kap because who the hell else you going to bring in that has any better chance of running a Chip style offense. RG3? Same `ol same O. One thing I do suspect though is Chip Kelly and a Kap led team is doomed. If they don`t pick first in 2017 draft it will be miracle. They just have to many holes besides their coach and qb predicament. If Chip is still in NFL in 2018 I`ll be amazed. At least not as a head coach anyway. Oregon will take him back for sure.

How 'bout Oz ?

Evan Mathis just came out and said how this Bronco team would have eaten Kelly alive, personality-wise ... Apparently, Kelly isn't fond of players who have distinctive or what would be perceived as high maintainence personalities ..

But I do agree that the Kelly - Kaepernick combo is a match made in football heaven - at least as far as Kelly's offense

Oh,right. Oz with Chip? I'll take that was sarcasm. Nobody is going to work Chips system till Chip wises up and realizes his college system sucks in the NFL and makes some changes. He belongs in college.

Yes, I meant the 9ers sign Oz

Obviously, if that happened, Kap would be traded

To Kelly's credit, he had Foles looking all-world for a season ... and Sanchez looking really good too

The thing I like about Kap - is that he would make sure Virgil Green catches his share of balls.

I like Kap and his series of one year deal. Take a test drive for one year and see what happens. If he thrives you got a great contract , if he fails , let him walk.

If Kap or RG3 ever earn a starting role again and lead a team to a .500 or above record while their a starter and manage a final qb rating above 40, I will cut my right nut off.:)

Be careful there. If I were you, I'd offer Mingo for the task.

Hmmm always have to love all the countering rumors that come out this time of year. I mean earlier this week it was "The Broncos and Malik Jackson are very far apart in contract talks" to now we are hearing "The two sides are very close."

If we can't get Oz signed on though yeah I would love to see the Broncos make a run at Kaepernick. I think he could do well in a Kubiak system. My biggest worry honestly with Kaep is his locker room fit. From what I understand he loved his music just a bit too much. He always has his headphones on listening to music making it hard for players to approach him.

There was a similar story out about Cody Latimer earlier this season - that he wore his headphones when the team was traveling, even to the extent of zoning out Manning ... I find this type of info completely useless and very easily fabricated or slanted ..

At the end of the Harbaugh era, the 9ers were about as disjointed and in disarray as an organization can get ..

What the heck do I know, but, I would seriously doubt Kaepernick would come to the Broncos with a poor attitude - he admittedly wears #7 because of his hero, John Elway

I think he would be a good pick up don't get wrong. Those are things the team has to think about though as we know for sure that Brock has the locker room. Players have raved about his attitude and leadership. I just haven't heard much of the same when it comes to Kaepernick. Talent wise I think Kaepernick trumps Osweiler big time because of his elite athleticism. Athleticism though only gets you so far in this league.

Was it Gore who when he got to Indy made the comment that it was good to have a guy that controlled the huddle?

I think this is the quote you are thinking of...

“I’m not knocking my other quarterbacks, I respect them other guys, but being around this guy a couple months, he’s a different breed. He’s smart. He makes me feel young. He runs the huddle. I never had that.”

He never named Kaepernick obviously but I think it is pretty obvious who he is talking about. Like I said athleticism wise not sure you are going to find much better in the league that Kaepernick. I just don't know much about him locker room wise or leadership wise. The little I have heard hasn't been positive but who knows how much of that is true or not.
