How about allowing penalty calls to be reviewed? That idea comes up from time to time. Some complain that it would slow down the pace of the game, but I kinda like the anticipation. Bumps up the drama in the GNT, too.

Or make diving a double minor. That way, when they call the matching penalty (like they always friggin' do), Robert DeNiro's embellishment still costs his team.

The diving schtick is getting old. They really need to knock it off. I don't spend my time and money on being a fan to just to watch them act like this. As a Sharks fan watching Joe and Seto dive last night was embarrassing.

Yeah, neither Seto nor Jim needed to dive last night. That was pretty sad.

Plus, when your PP is such absolute shit, why go out of your way to try to draw penalties anyway? /shrug

I sure the fuck do. I spent a week in the hospital after being on the receiving end of one of those blown kisses. Broke my collarbone. I grabbed my left leg it hurt so bad.

its really an easy fix. stop telling the players to stop diving and start calling only diving. 99 times out of 100 if the official calls diving he calls the other player for whatever infraction is being embellished. that sends the message that if a player dives, the worst possible outcome is 4 on 4, aka diving is a low-risk, high reward activity

if a player dives/embellishes, call diving, dont call the other penalty. its a simple way to get diving out of the game.

or, if you really want to get drastic, make diving a major penalty, that'll bring some bad-ass-ness back into the game's reputation around the world

I agree if you call diving the other penalty should not be called. That and diving needs to be called a hell of a lot more.

Looked to me like a couple more dives resulting in penalties last night. Stuart when Setoguchi hooked him, and to a lesser extent Kronwall on Heater. I guess it's not always easy to tell on the replay, but I have a hard time believing a guys like Heater and Stuart who are so strong on their skates go down like a ton of bricks because of some dude breathing on their jersey.
