Just spoke with Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow, who acknowledged he’s “talked to several teams about possible trades” but said “at this point, nothing is imminent."
Ok, these guys on my other board are fucking with the Red Sox fans
Apologies
If you only mention sections of their stats you can make things sound good however you want. I could say they both average about 160 IP's per year in their career and Cole's career ERA is better (3.50 to 3.60). But the main thing is I'm saying Cole is a better pitcher now. Not what Gonzalez did almost 10 years ago (which is most of his good stuff). David Price could be in the discussion if we're talking their whole careers...but that's not what I'm referring to. I'm saying Cole should easily be the better pitcher now and for the next couple years.Gio Gonzalez has averaged 189 innings and a 3.41 ERA over the last 8 seasons. Gerrit Cole has reached those numbers once and that was 3 years ago.
I just use all 8 full seasons that Gonzalez has had. Obviously using the averages for their careers and comparing them side by side doesn't make sense since Cole doesn't have half the innings Gonzalez does.If you only mention sections of their stats you can make things sound good however you want. Welp looks like someone was early jumping the gun. He is not heading there right now.I think it's good get for the Astros since they do need an ace pitcher

Jeff Passan reporting it was a false rumor. Usually they don't hit this far.Stros GM denying it
They already have two.I think it's good get for the Astros since they do need an ace pitcher
Is saying that what Gonzalez did almost 10 years ago isn't gonna help him right now just an "uneducated guess" too? I guess if what happened a long time ago makes you automatically still better right now than legends like Roger Clemens, John Smoltz, Greg Maddux, Sandy Koufax and those guys must still be better in 2018 than Gerrit Cole is in 2018 too?I just use all 8 full seasons that Gonzalez has had. Last year: 201 innings, 2.96 ERA
Last two years: 189 innings average, 3.71 ERA
Last three years: 185 innings average, 3.75 ERA
Last four years: 178 innings average, 3.70 ERA
Last five years: 182 innings average, 3.63 ERA
Last six years: 185 innings average, 3.49 ERA
Last seven years: 187 innings average, 3.44 ERA
Last eight years: 189 innings average, 3.41 ERA
You can use any section of stats and Gonzalez has done something over an extended period of time that Cole has not. Cole has shown nothing that demonstrates that he can sustain success over "the next couple years" so anything you say is an uneducated guess.

Whose the other ace besides Verlander? They already have two.
When you and I see the same tweets, I feel like we are together. I can see you looking at the tweet with me. Like two people on opposite sides of the country looking at the same star.Heyman saying this deal isnt even close, and that another team, not the Yankees, are now involved

Or the fact that Rocky 4 is basically just a music video. And I could rewatch that more than any Rocky movie. It's great.Im always amazed at the shit we took seriously as kids (at least me) that I look back now and laugh
Like the scene you just posted, that was like a real dramatic moment in my life when Rocky and Apollo jumped in the water for no apparent reason
