The only reason I said it was like "'drilling' nano holes into them and mimic'ing the morpho butterflies wing structure" optically is because the light could be the drill, the holes could be the excitation (which does leave "holes" in the ground state), and I basically took the whole butterfly thing as "leaving a lasting effect" so to speak, which I related to the slow relaxation.
