I think its about time the Rangers come down to Earth... Losing 4-1 to Ottawa last night will mark the beginning of that. Bruins winning two in a row will mark the beginning of the Boston beatdown that will be coming to a theater near you.

Excellent. I'm not sure how to begin, why don't you procure crates of glitter, and I'll come up with some catch phrases.

OK, I'll get on it. Good thing "Glitter Procurer" is one of the highlights of my resume.

You need to come up with something else. We already have glittering vampires.

not to me lol ... Im a layman investor ... not sid the science kid

It was a loaded "isn't it obvious." :p

Part one was "that's what should probably happen."

Part two was "no, that's not the strict definition of phosphorescence."

But part three was, "however, it's kind of like the optical version of that."

so no "drilling" involved ... just aplication of a phosphorus substance to emit light?

Phosphorescence is a molecular response to a light stimulus. Basically, and without getting into any of the theory, the molecule is excited to a higher energy, and then decays to his original state very slowly, emitting light in the process.

Glow-in-the-dark items are phosphorescent. They glow in the dark because they're still relaxing back to their ground states. That's why glow-in-the-dark items only work if they sit in the light for a while first. Without that initial optical excitation, they couldn't glow in the dark later.

It's like fluorescence, where an object emits light when it's hit with light, but it's much slower.
