Drank two cups, now I'm just relaxing while I wait for a buddy to come over and help install a furnace. I have absolutely no idea how to do duct work, so this project has been on hold for a while.

If your buddy has some decent knowledge it will be pretty easy. It's basically just fitting piece a into piece b and making sure all your connections are secure, you'll see it's not that difficult.. Good luck.

If your buddy has some decent knowledge it will be pretty easy. It's basically just fitting piece a into piece b and making sure all your connections are secure, you'll see it's not that difficult.. Good luck.

He came over last night and looked at it... he's installed tons of furnaces, so it won't be hard. I know how to hook up the condensate pump, run the line, hook up the gas, run the PVC for combustable air/vent flue, hook up the thermostat and electric... but the old furnace I ripped out was from the 50's, so none of the duct work matches up with today's stuff. I can pull s-lock and drive and put it back together, but once I need to start calculating air flow to redo transitions and hook weird size stuff up to a new plenum, I am lost.

Luckily I know an old dude who works for beer.

It's been in the low 30's at night, high 40's low 50's during the day. Right now it's gorgeous, blue skies, tons of sun, 37 degrees... makes me want to go shoot some ducks and geese.

I know a lot of people that whine and complain about Michigan and it's weather... but I love this state. I can't imagine living anywhere else. Four real seasons, sure it's cloudy and cold in the winter, but between the beaches, the woods, the rivers, the fishing, the hunting, the people... I love it here.
