Nothing is funnier than seeing all the Republicans who kissed Trumps taint but were always on the outside are now failing.

I'm sure he'll be the next president no matter what, but why would they think a man going over to check on his pregnant wife should be edited out? Any normal person would do that.

When I posted that video yesterday I was like, yeah it is bad very bad due to what the Chief stated.

And I heard her today state they reviewed all videos of the surrounding CCTV from the interstates and businesses and could not find any justification for the officers to even pull over Tyre in the first place.


Then it got me wondering why was a police department so quick to fire and charge the police officers vs the normal putting them on administrative leave......I thought first maybe, just maybe, this Chief is all for police reform which she probably is for.
But then it hit me, here are the officers involved:

Yep if these were white officers they would have been kept on the force and left on admin leave for about 6 months. Then quietly put back in active duty when all is forgotten.

Chauvin and the Floyd officers were fired the next day.

There’s enough racism in police ranks as it is to not have to go digging for more. These guys are just assholes who apparently did something supremely fucked up in which there isn’t even a hint of possibility that it’s worth trying to “defend the line” or whatever dumb shit cops say. That’s all there is to it.

Once again this is a different scenario. They are easy to fire people when it comes to this type of scenario since it is taboo.

So when we see this video, the biggest takeaway will be a hypothetical that already hasn't been the case in similar incidents of national visibility?

Police dept's of major cities (the ones who are handing out the most in settlement money for wrongful arrest/beating/murder/etc. suits) tend to be either majority-minority or close to it. If there's some stats out there that shows that they're terminating their minority officers at a greater clip for workplace violations than their white counterparts I'm open to it but I have doubts.

And the problem may be that data on such actions aren't collected but maybe something worth someone scraping before we collectively decide that a matter of police brutality is somehow racist towards the brutalizers.

I highly doubt the data will be readily available since most police brutality is covered up. The positive we can look at in those few cases is they were made public ASAP with the hope it could lead to some sort of reform.

In the end race doesn't matter when it comes to police using force in this manner, but there is a stigma around this. Wish I was just scraping but it is there.
