I'd say it's like dealing with a 12 year old, but that's insulting to 12 year olds - 8 year old?
8 is still too high. Mrs 43 teaches 5 year olds. The stories she tells about dealing with them shows they have more maturity.

Of all the things I am amazed at, I am still amazed how many people buy his 'everything good is my doing, everything bad is someone else's fault" shtick. I am pretty sure we all went to school or worked with someone who was like that, and unless they changed quickly it didn't usually end well for them.

Taking pot shots at the "Internet People" who delivered your message and put you there is a bold strategy. Can wait for the crypto bros to turn on him. Gonna be hilarious.

Also, stop saying Elon has left the White House or been forced out. He killed the investigations into his business and gutted the departments who did it, and then stole all our data to sell and/or train his AI models. He didn't leave, he just finished his objective. And his people are still there so when his masters come back looking for more, he can make a phone call and get it. The risk isn't over because he cleaned out his office.

That was my first Director in IT.

He's a real estate agent now.

"He was making the point that I think almost every American consumer agrees with, which is if they had a choice between a -- and I'm a parent of young children -- a choice between a doll from China that might have, say, lead paint in it, that is not as well constructed as a doll made in America, that has a higher environmental and regulatory standard, and that is made to a higher degree of quality, and those two products are both on Amazon that yes, you probably would be willing to pay more for a better made American product," Miller said.

It's hard to describe the level of failure in this straw man statement.
  • No, people don't want to pay more and have shown that time and again.
  • You literally promised voters they wouldn't have to and now you are backtracking b/c there is no economic plan, just chaos.
  • Arguing for less choice for consumers and emptier shelves isn't going to help with the pro-Russia criticism.
  • You are praising environmental and health regulations, the thing you are literally stripping away.

Yeah I get it, a lot of the people I worked with before are now "in real estate" too.

(side note - WTF? Baltimore's population now growing, murders per year has been going down every year, and the city only had 5 homicides in all of April? Unacceptable. I need to stir up some trouble.)

Seeing a lot of this post-election - I voted for the party that is going to keep vital social safety net programs in place instead of gutting them while at the same time protecting human rights. I also voted for the party that rolled out the best housing program (still flawed, but better than the Cons). Also, the percentages in the 35-54 age group aren't that different, maybe people just weren't buying what the Cons were selling?

It is incredible how fragile the right gets every year in Canada. How is that the only way Canada is a good country is if one side wins over the other, if you lose we are broken, we are NOT broken... not yet but we are divided more than I have ever seen in my life. There is no conversation to have with the right as all they want is the power and do not care about anything else. I am like you dash for the same reasons you pointed out. I have actually voted Conservative in the past as I felt at the time it was better for our country. I do not think I will ever again.

Where did it all go so wrong in basic civil behaviour?

I mean, does anybody think Mark Carney is some kind of radical leftist? He's been a banker most of his life, he's a small 'c' conservative who decided to lead the Liberal party and become prime minister. He's basically a modern day conservative like Peter Lougheed or Joe Clark, but we are so quick to place people in silos these days. I like you have voted Conservative in the past, but I just get so tired of all the culture war bs they spew these days along with their grievance politics. Instead of continually saying 'Canada is broken', tell me what you plan to do to fix it?

feels like that is all they have for a platform to get into power and figure it out after. That scares me.

It's amazing to me that the Cons are still considering keeping PP as leader of the party...The guy couldn't even hold onto his own seat.
