I really want to make it down to Tennis Paradise in the California desert one of these years, but right now, I prefer to spend my money propping up the Canadian economy. Maybe a trip to Toronto or Montreal for the Masters 1000 tourney is in the offing.

The US border towns south of us have seen business drop at least 30% by some reports. The Phoenix trip will be my last visit for the foreseeable future (btw our team tried to back out of that ... it was booked in October and they werent refunding us - hotels and flights were booked and paid for too). We were gonna go to Mexico for spring break but apparently theyre poisoning canadians en masse at resorts lol

US border crossings into canada near us are up though thanks to our weak dollar and cheap eggs

Same sort of thing here. We had pencilled in a family ski trip to Whitefish, MT but scrapped it and just went to a couple of mountains in BC. I love the resort at Whitefish but I won't be spending any money in the USA for at least the next 4 years. And frankly I probably won't miss it and will only have limited travel there for the rest of my days. This asshole is causing lasting damage to "his" country.

Sad.

I've been to Panorama to play Greywolf Golf Course in the summer. Never been there in the winter. I used to do some fieldwork near Panorama as well. It's just a beautiful area.

Throw in Kicking Horse, Revelstoke, Lake Louise and Sunshine Village and I have no shortage of ski venues close to home. The only one that I REALLY have an urge to ski in the USA is Jackson Hole, but I'm probably getting too old for some of it's terrain anyway.
