The thing here isn’t even so much the act but the sense of what in the fuck was he thinking in denying he took part in that decision when it was literally 3 months ago and he was chairman of the board. It’s such an easily verifiable lie.

And also pathetic on Freeland (who’s son is Carney’s godson) and the other candidates for not ripping him to shreds on this. Or for bailing him out on his shitty French during the French debate when he said he supported Hamas. Do you people even want this job or is it all just to make Carney out to be the saviour? These contests need to be competitive if you want to stand a chance in a general - especially when that general is going to happen very shortly after the leadership race.

Yeah, you know PP Is going to keep calling him on it, Carney should have gotten out in front of it, but that ship has sailed. It's probably too late to provide any explanation that will satisfy most people, but ignoring it and thinking it's going to go away is not any way to address it either.

Libs had PP on the American issue, even if PP has been pretty much on the same page as the government and premiers regarding tariffs etc. the perception was there that the Conservatives were going to be soft on Trump and maybe even pro-annexation. I think that has played a big role in the polls lately.

Carney just lost that. PP will absolutely bludgeon him with this and they’ll do a good enough job sloganeering this to probably get back to where they were when Justin was still leader (to say nothing of the NDP and Bloc).

If there’s even a chance of keeping the Conservatives out of majority he probably has to go and one of Freeland or Gould need to win.

As much as we sometimes like to think we're quite different from the Excited States of America and acknowledging that Kim Campbell was briefly PM of Canada, I just don't think the Liberals will select either Freeland or Gould even though many people are saying Gould performed best at the debate. If women come out in droves and vote, polling indicates that women detest PP and that could be the saving grace because I think it's going to be Carney come hell or high water.

i agree with you. and I am voting for him if he's the leader. I will pay extra fucking taxes if I need to to keep PP out of the office and everyone better get on board or we will be a 51st state with PP. PP will destroy what little we have left in Canada and if the orange fucking cheetos endorsement of him is not enough to sway you as a Canadian then you're no fucking Canadian to me
