Lining up to negotiate? They're lining up in the hope they can talk him out of doing the dumbest of the dumbest things that will hurt everyone.

I wouldn't trust that imbecile to negotiate anything more important than extra pickles on a cheeseburger.

Every boomer who’s posted this after major market fluctuations since 2008 that a year later are afterthoughts when the S&P is up 15% from where it was before the drop has more than enough money to retire off of and a house valued at 4000% of what they paid for it 30 years ago.

Everyone of them will be fine.

Some of us are still making mortgage payments and helping out kids attending university. My finances took a pretty good hit in the dot com bubble, the 2008 financial crisis, and most recently COVID-19. It took me basically the last four years to recover what I had lost due to COVID-19. Who knows how far the markets will fall due to Trump's insanity?

Will I still be okay in retirement? I think so, but I'm seriously considering extending my working career because not only will I need this money to live in retirement, but I'm hoping to pass on some of my funds to my two daughters.

Put it this way, I was looking to retire in 2.5 years. Now, I'm thinking it could be more like 5-6 years.

So my shoulder has been fucked for a while now (bursitis), and I call up the doctor's office to get something for the pain to help me sleep.
Once I wake up at 3am or whatever, I'm too aware of the shoulder and can't get back to sleep.

A different doctor than my usual takes the call and basically tells me to hit some Advil. Refuses to prescribe me anything stronger. Asshole.

Fine. So last night I take matters into my own hands and pop the 50mg codeine I got in Mexico.

Talk about comfortably numb....

After dot com it’s been nonstop up.

And a lot of people (because I’m obviously not trying to dig into your life but by and large) who bought homes even through the early 2010s a should be doing just fine. And if not, frankly, lots of condos out there for them they could probably buy outright if they sold their SFH.

But most people that age legit do not care what happens for those after them. They acknowledge that the way we’ve all been operating the last decade doesn’t work and isn’t leading anywhere promising for most of the population but they do not give a shit.

And like I said, in all likelihood the market isn’t going to stay depressed forever. Covid wrecked markets and then everyone doubled up. Great Recession made the economy so tough people my age leaving college couldn’t find decent work for half a decade in the US but the market doubled up. Meanwhile young people wanting to start families are told to go live in a sky slum for $3000/month and if you complain about it they tell you to cancel your Disney+ account.

So yeah I have no idea what this asshole is doing down there or if there’s a chance in hell of it working out but my last concern is the stock market.

if anyone needs some old hydromorphone (from a diverticulitis attack I had 10 years ago) I got some for free ... I should probably dispose of it before my kids get ideas

My buddy works at insight, so I had him test a pill when I got back.

But I also made my wife carry one of the packages home, because there was a gram of codeine each package, and I don't know if there might be quantity restrictions before flipping over into bring called trafficking. :)
