Yeah, if Trump craters the American economy, he's not going to win a third term regardless of whether or not he is deemed eligible to run.
Given his current state of health, it will be a miracle if he finishes this term, let alone runs for another.

He appears to have lost a considerable amount of weight, it makes me think that there might be something afoot. I mean, I'm pretty sure he hasn't changed his diet and he doesn't really exercise.

Yeah a third term would be a weekend at Bernie’s style presidency. With Vance and Musk carrying him around.

Assuming this is some democratic loophole he’s exploiting and not just an autocratic coup (something like Vance running for president and him pulling the strings like Putin/Medvedev) I honestly don’t think they’d win even if all the Shit he’s pulling somehow miraculously doesn’t result in absolute ruin.

I think despite the cult there wouldn’t be nearly enough voter enthusiasm to get that through. Also can’t imagine Vance wanting to participate in that.

They are trying to pass a bill to allow him so that the loophole is non-consecutive terms.

This was brought up after he took the oath of office by this dipshit:

Jagmeet is standing right next to this MP while she rightfully shits on the Liberals for keeping a candidate who told a crowd of people they could turn his Conservative rival into the Chinese consulate for a bounty (he’s wanted in Hong Kong for criticizing the CCP).

The funny thing here is Jagmeet wouldnt be standing next to her if he didn’t support the message. It’s a winning message and a bit of a brainless move by the Liberals to not turf Chiang while there’s still plenty of time to name a replacement.

But Jagmeet isn’t saying anything. His deputy is.

For the record, Jagmeet Singh got a security clearance and is bound by an NDA about the 11 MP’s who were found to be compromised by foreign influence. Poilievre has been talking about this freely all weekend.

And fwiw, Jagmeet knows exactly how this would be read. Pretty smart on his end.

I'm just catching up on this story, but how does Carney not send this guy packing immediately?!? In what universe is the comment Chaing made acceptable?

HUGE difference is Biden walked away, and it was already known Reagan had dementia. Should have walked away after one term but didn't, otherwise without the "persona" of Reagan their agenda would have failed.
Mmmmm did Biden walk away or did the entire party kick him in the nuts until he gave it up.

The stories about at least the last two years of his admin do leave a lot of questioning about who exactly was in charge there.

I can believe and do believe Reagan was declining in his second term but I saw Biden do so with my own eyes, saw his team scream the media out of the room the second the prepared remarks were over, saw every democratic politician say he’s “the sharpest in the room behind the scenes” in a shit ton of interviews just weeks before they all United in telling him to go away, heard him say “well anyways” after losing his train of thought dozens of times….

The man clearly was declining before everyone’s eyes and at the very least the party should not have been accepting of his attempt to seek re-election. If that debate hadn’t been in June who knows what would’ve happened.

He defended him this morning and said “I understand his position”.

Only possibility is this opens the can of worms re: foreign interference. Which, ok, open it?

The entire benefit of Carney’s candidacy is that he wasn’t in government during the Trudeau era (for the most part). Just cut and run. Not like they’re really in danger of losing Don Valley North if they replace him so long as their lead in the polls stays somewhat close to where it is now.

Yeah, this story is not going to go away and it just makes you look worse continuing to defend it. Do the right thing, admit you made a mistake (why are people so adverse to this) and get rid of Chaing.

Walk away or kicked out doesn't matter. The right thing was done unlike what happened with Reagan. Like I said HUGE difference.

And Reagan was declining as I saw it with my own eyes.
It was obivous and even his own son said so:

If he had recognized the end and called it a day in 2023 so a proper primary and campaign could be undertaken to find a challenger to Trump I could agree.

Biden looked out for Biden. Kamala was given a quick turnaround from nominee to Election Day. It wasn’t fair to her and had she had the benefit of a primary campaign and full election season she may have been able to do a lot better. He doesn’t get credit for that IMO.

But understand if you feel different.

The timing was stupid with Biden no matter what, that should have been pushed well in advance. The democrats blew that big time.
