Many of these are manufactured with parts actually built overseas and sent here to be assembled. So does the tarriff not apply unless all components are made here? Does it apply if "finally assembly" takes place in the States? And would "Final Assembly" mean dealer prep, like sticking logos on the car and taking the scratch protection off?

I dare say this wasn't well thought out and very complicated due to a global economy.
Exactly, anyone that thinks this will magically make car production in the US go up and lower the price of domestically produced vehicles. Guess what I have a bridge to sell you.

Oh I am sure the majority of port worker votes went to Trump, I'd say this would be a learning experience but Trump supporters are usually beyond learning anything.
Yeah, an old friend who I just can't with anymore, I tried recently when he asked me to hand out but can't anymore, because he became a full on Trumper. He works at one of the inland ports and the last time I saw him he raved about Elons cutting waste and was praising Trump lifting bans on the fracking. As when Biden was president, he had to let people go due to the bans on fracking. Even though none of that ever happened.

I wonder what is going to happen now with all the tariffs and these ports no longer receiving goods due to the high tariffs. Hate to say he will be out of a job soon also, can't wait for the leopard eating their face moment.

I haven’t been in the ocean lately, but windmills in the ocean?
Mainly in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, etc. You know, developed countries.

And I think they look badass.

The ones that are being argued about here would be 10 miles from shore. I wont pretend they would be unnoticeable, but they wouldn't bother me. They dont bother me in western MD in the mountains, and these would be far less noticeable.

For example, the engine that is in the vast majority of Ford F-150 and above pickup trucks, the Mustang GT and the Police-Spec Explorer is "American Made" in Windsor, Ontario.
Not for long lol

Honestly this is the death knell for Ontario’s car industry and I’m going to be blunt, I’m not really all that upset about it.

It’s not quite Alberta level reliance but there is definitely a non-healthy level of propping up the Ontario auto industry that just doesn’t make any sense today. Every few years one of the big 3 show up and threaten to move production to Cousinfucker, AR and the Feds and provincial govt (regardless of party) will give them a $3 bil tax credit to retool a few plants at the low cost of shaving only 20% of the current workforce instead of 75%. It’s been happening forever but while it maybe was vital when GM Oshawa and Ford Oakville employed the equivalent of a mid sized suburb it makes absolutely no sense today when both plants combine for something like 5,000 jobs.

It’s time to let it go.

My issue with windmills is about the same as solar panels - they cost a lot, they need a lot of materials that are either rare (in the case of solar panels) or carbon-intensive.

Oceans and other areas of high wind makes some sense for them but the constant plopping them everywhere even if the research shows they aren’t generating enough to justify the cost makes the entire exercise feel like money laundering.

Windmills are also generally pretty bad for birds but I understand there are numerous bird haters among us so maybe that’s a positive.

No one is "doing harm" to the US.
Nations are protecting themselves from your idiotic ideas of what tarrifs actually are.

You have been weaponizing them, and coutires are defending themselves.
If that makes the US economy irrelevant on a global scale, good.

Fucking cheeto-bitch, you are the bad guy, as always.

100%:10:

It's called a free market economy fuckface. I thought right wing types liked that sort of thing. Until they don't.

This has to be in reference to a specific idea that Canada and the EU have been discussing that’s made its way to him somehow though, right? Like military purchases or some other significant big ticket item that the Raytheon’s of the world would likely not be pleased with.
