Reckless? More like illegal, and disqualifying for security clearance. Sharing classified info in a setting where everyone receiving is not vetted and whose clearance is is not validated is supposed to get you a clearance smackdown. YOU are responsible for the data you are working with, and if it goes into the wrong hands through your action, you get stomped. Not a "single fucking idiot". Everyone in that group should have verified the full list of participants. Well, actually they should have refused to use Signal in the first place.

Using a third party app that is not a authorized by the agency you represent is in violation of the Freedom of Information Act. Everything that happens in government has strict archival rules because (within reason) it all has to be available to the people that are funding the work, the taxpayers. It's a big reason why the classification system exists. People can ask, but if the data is too sensitive, they can't have it. It was the primary issue with Hillary's email server. The concern was that she would be circumventing the archival rules, until the investigation found that she was complying with every archival rule, the issue was there wasn't enough separation between personal and official data.


Also, there is no way this is the only thing they have been discussing in Signal.

I can forgive this amateur hour shit as nothing catastrophic came of it yet but the goodwill has just about wore off now.

That was my big takeaway from all this - using Signal for chat seems to be like they’re intentionally skirting the FOIA archival protocols.

I believe Tulsi when she said there was no classified info divulged - was she sworn in? If so, then she may have perjured herself if that wasn’t true and perjury is a big deal? Or not. I also heard Tom Wilson was part of that group chat but that’s just hearsay for the time being.

Like Walz, AOC, and Bernie have been doing nationally, Raskin has been doing locally here. He has been meeting people in Andy "oops I accidentally met with white supremacists, again" Harris' district. People are getting fed up and protesting Andy Harris' offices. Harris hasn't done any town halls since 2017 and was recently sending out "sorry the government is too big" form letters for constituents worried about losing their jobs. Nice guy. Hopefully this helps undermine him.

Rep Andy Harris did have a telephone town hall where he answered caller's questions, and apparently cut them off if they asked more or unexpected questions.

I’m sure this is only like the 50th time something like this has happened in the internet age - reporter added to chat, reporter cc’ed, reporter got the MSN Messenger invite by accident - but nobody bothered to trade on this with the reporter and now they’re frying for it.
