Coach has been up front about everything. The media should test him on this now. A barrage of questions about sliding. See what he has to say and how he handles it.

Slide number 1: The season ender that we avoided. Lucky his cleat did not stick in the ground, or it would have been over. Judges give that one a 2 out of 10.

Slide number 2: The slide that never happened, aka the pirouette, aka the pinball wizard. Once he sees the linebacker from the left, he should instantly get down. Never risk those last few yards. Probably feared the slide number 1 result.
Judges give that one a 1 out of 10.

Slide number 3: The hammy tweak? This was the best slide we have ever seen him make arguably, but he went down because he felt something in his hamstring supposedly?
Judges give that one a 9 out of 10.

I know his legs are not the same as Russell Wilson's. He has long lower legs, and his feet move in all directions when he is diving/sliding. If he can not slide, and he does not throw the ball away, then it is just a matter of time before we are going through another Ngata season ending hit.

Media need to pound Gruden on this.

Gruden is well aware of RG3's deficiencies in this area. Hell, we are all aware of it. Its painfully obvious. Did Robert never play on a slip and slide when he was younger? I'm curious what, if anything, Robert or the team has done to instruct him on this. OR is it just Robert thinking that he can run past the defender until its too late. Because that is one of the problems. He needs to start his slide 5 yards from a hit, not 1 yard.

A Blind Man is well aware of RG3's deficiencies with regard to sliding. The Gruden's appear to be a very up front and honest bunch. Plus the whole honeymoon period makes for an opportunity for the media to get to the crux of the matter. I would like to hear Coach Gruden talk about this at length. We might never get the kind of insight from anyone like we can from him. If there is no fix in sight, then if I were the coach I would have Cousins warming up every time we had the ball.

At this point, RGIII is more of a danger to himself when he tries to slide than when he doesn't.

Like what I heard from Cooley this am. The key is for Griff to become a ball distributer to his playmakers, not the playmaker himself. Time will tell if he can redefine himself in terms of this.

We are going to have to be patient and look at this as his second rookie year IMO.

Me too. I'm encouraged by seeing progress in almost all areas that don't include sliding.

Don't remember. I know my high school baseball coach used it to teach sliding to those that couldn't figure it out. It worked.

Could be a good idea because Griffin's brain looks like it locks up when he is about to slide and his legs don't know what to do. I don't know which hurts more, seeing him take a hit we don't want him to take or watching him try to snap a leg in half when he is trying to slide.

Seriously tho, we gotta hope Griff's actions reflects his words, that he understands he has to do my better job with this.
