Clay Mathews.... Fine or No Fine?

Was kind of expecting to see a news release about an announced fine for Mathews. Nothing yet... Typically such fines are made public by Friday.

Any chance he doesnt get one?

Don't know how he wouldn't. He threw two punches as well as hitting Kaep way out of bounds. Hell David got one for hitting Geno and it was no where near as bad as Clay's.

I doubt there is going to be a fine. Usually you hear some reports of an upcoming fine/suspension, but it's been very quiet in that front. I hope I'm wrong though.

Well looks like I was wrong. I'm reading reports that Clay will be fined $15k. Quite a paltry amount if you ask me, but I guess he doesn't have a history of fines/suspensions that would play into it.

Brooks $12,750 for a roughing the passer and Boldin $7,875 for a late hit in the 3rd quarter.

no shit. It is laughable. Clays hit was dirty THAN he swung twice. Only $15,000 is lucky. So much for player safety.

I'm starting to get a bit irritated at Merton Hanks and his handling of fines. Almost seems like he's trying to stick it to his former team. Dashon Goldson was a regular target of his the last few years.

Yea...a clean record until now. his fine will be larger the next time...if there is one. I really can't compare him to other players who get fined often but still didn't like the call in the game.

Does anyone remember last season when Brady attempted a groin kick in comparison to Gore's sock issue? The NFL's system of fines is flawed for sure. I'm just happy that the NFL even fined Clay...took long enough!
