One of the worst rules in football. The QB is allowed to try to draw the defense off, but nah, the defense can't do that to the offense.

No different, to me, than when the entire DL shifts trying to draw a false start.

The defense can't act like they are the QB by calling "hut" or "hike" or whatever.

Peko CLEARLY called out the cadence, as his entire head bobbed up and down.

Ah ok gotcha... Thanks...

Disagree. If the defense were allowed to do that we would see a false start 30 times a game.

That was a wild finish to end the game. Congrats to the Cards and fans. Cincy has no reason to hang their heads because they played a real good game

That penalty at the end there had me going crazy from my seat. It's hard to hear anything in the stadium. I thought it was initially a false start which would have resulted in a 10 second run off & the end of the quarter. Then I heard the call & assumed it was a Cincy player simulating the snap.

That's an over exaggeration to me. It just seems unfair to me. If a QB can do it, then the defense should be able to as well. It's only fair. The offense already has the advantage as it is.

The D line already has more freedom to move on the line though. O-lineman can barely flinch and get a flag. If people could mimic the QB there would be a ton more false starts.

You make a good point there. I didn't think about it from that angel. But the offense can do formation shifts. Kind of the same thing.

No. It was a stupid thing to do. Why do it in that situation? Everyone knows it's a personal foul. It was simply an idiotic move that hurt the team.

Eithe way, Catman was hitting the field goal. The idiotic Begal who simulated the snap just made it easier.

Uh, no. It was a bullshit call. The offensive lineman even admitted as much.

Marvin Lewis: Refs blew it by making 'phantom call' on Bengals with :06 left - CBSSports.com

The Bengals got fucked.
You have to know where you're at on the field. Does it get called often? Certainley not, but at that point of the game, when the official is mandated to move closer to the line it's not smart. Risk vs reward just wasn't there. Like the proverbial young kid getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

It's a penalty when caught. And he was caught. He or other Cincy D-linemen had been doing it all game long, unless you think Fitz is lying.

Fitzgerald said that play wasn't the first time Peko and others called out the Cardinals' offensive cadences. He indicated the Bengals had been calling out the Cardinals' snap counts at other points in the game.

I'm just glad that they finally caught it later in the game. Peko is a veteran. He has a lot of tricks up his sleeve.
