Ponder will work out this week as we look to add depth to the QB position with an experienced starter. It's about the best we can do at this point for a backup.

We also put a waiver claim in for Jimmy Clausen but he was awarded to the Ravens.

We couldn't talk Kyle Orton out of retirement I take it?

Report says we are going to be signing Ponder now.

Never been a Ponder fan dating back to his college days (Liked him better then EJ Manuel however)

but it makes sense. At this stage you need someone to back up Osweiler who has experience. Can't roll with Siemien with no experience with our current situation in Denver.

This actually makes sense. He knows the offense and he would be a 3rd option and another vet in meetings.
Jon Kitna played for Dallas and he's older than Jake.

In the corresponding roster move, Kenny Anunike was placed on IR. Doesn't look promising for his future - came into the league with questions about his ability to stay healthy and now on IR for his first two years. That would be a shame, certainly showed promise.

I would prefer a Samantha Ponder workout.

I would rather go with Siemien We can lose with him as easy as these trash heaps

Damn.....good call. Hopefully we don't end up seeing any of them, as Brock continues to play well and stays healthy.

I would absolutely love to see Oz lead the team to a win over the Patsies this weekend, while throwing for 285 and another 2 scores. I'll be super curious to see what Kubiak says about his starter status then

At this point if Brock goes down I don't think it matters who we stick back there at QB we are in some big trouble. We thankfully had one of the more promising back up situations in the NFL to the point that many are saying now that we are better with Brock than Manning. I can't see that being the same thing we say if Brock goes down.

Right now the Ponder signing is just somebody you hope can make a few decent throws a game and otherwise hand it off hoping to play some field position football in the hopes you defense can win you a game. just have to really hope that Osweiler doesn't take a ton of hits and can stay on the field and do well. Loved his first game but need to see him grow from that experience. They kept things pretty simple and safe for him in that first game. I can't see that being the case in game 2 if we hope to win.
