Thanks for proving you never watched Jordan play before his first retirement in 1999.

Magic, Drexler and Barkley ALL averaged more FTA than did Jordan, during their respective Finals match ups... and only Drexler was whistled for fewer PF than MJ.

Also...

Jordan: 22.9-FGA / 8.2-FTA / 2.6-PF
LeBron: 20.1-FGA / 8.6-FTA / 1.9-PF

Like I said... James is the most coddled / babied player in NBA history.

Whoa whoa whoa!!! How dare you not revise history to say that MJ shoveled snow uphill both ways to the stadium every game day. He had to do it barefoot because he needed his shoes to not wear out . Also his teammates just stood around and watched from near the bench.

CP3 maybe, but not Rose... are you kidding. The guy drives aggressively and relentlessly to the basket and draws all sorts of contact, yet he averages less than 5 FTA per game for his career.
I mentioned Rose because my first experience of NBA viewing this year was him dancing and flopping in the lane during preseason. I mention PGs in general because in situations with little v big, the little player generally gets the benefit of the doubt.

That said, second 3-Peat Jordan got a lot of breaks sure... but MJ circa 85-93 EARNED everything he got (especially during those physical wars with the Bad Boys and early 90's Knicks).

They invented flagrants for MJ to beat the Pistons.

EDIT... that post should read "only Drexler was whistled for MORE Fouls than MJ".

It's a shame you don't realize that fouls can be called that doesn't result in FTA.

Yeah sure... and you clearly weren't around to watch those Bad Boys play. They were thugs, and masters of the cheap shot (Laimbeer, Mahorn and Rodman in particular).

LeCryBaby wouldn't last one-half of one game against those Pistons (or the early 90's Knicks). Jordan, on the other hand, faced those two teams a total of eight -8- times in the playoffs from 85-93.

It's a shame you have no facts / substance to back up your claims, while I provided you with both... so get back to me when you've got something more than empty rhetoric and factLESS opinions.

And FTR, I mentioned (in my previous post) that Magic and Barkley were whistled for fewer Fouls than was MJ (in their Finals meeting).

Could you imagine Blake Griffin playing in that era? He'd dunk once, get taken out and then never dunk on someone again

Just because a foul is called against whoever was guarding Jordan, doesn't mean automatic FTA. It's obvious you don't know the game.

Stern saw the cash cow and made sure he got the Gretzky treatment after the Bulls were bounced 3 straight years by Detroit.

I'm done derailing the OP's thread about Chris Paul.

That's the truth... the general rule back then is, if you're going to drive the ball in the paint you are going to get hammered, so next time you'll think twice about it.

That was the mindset of the players back then.

Psst... genius... I talked about FTA "and" Personal Fouls as separate entities.

Magic, Drexler and Barkley attempted more FTA than Jordan (in their Finals matchups) while Magic and Barkley were whistled for fewer Personal Fouls than MJ.

Those are facts to refute your nonsense about MJ being more coddled / babied than LeBron.

So far you brought nothing to the table except a fact-Less opinion.

What?!? No Ginobli? I'm calling bullshit!

SG was a tough call bewteen Wade and Manu... but Ginobili comes off the bench and plays fewer minutes, so I'd put him on the All Flopper Second Team.

Same with Battier at SF...

If I'm a player in the NBA and someone blatantly flops I'm hurting him the next play. Call a flagrant 1 but if the NBA isn't going to address the issue then the players will have to. Chris Paul flops once send him on his ass the next play and let him know if he wants to keep flopping go ahead but don't complain if you get hurt and end up having to miss a few games.
