is expected to be released by the Tennessee Titans later this week. I say we add this guy to our roster for depth. Zac Stacy had an issue with nagging injuries last season and Benny Cunningham had an issue with putting the ball on the ground. I still think CJ has some gas in the tank. He ran all over the Rams during that horrible loss in the dome last season. Thoughts?

CJ has plenty left in the tank... It would be a smart move!

I don't know how much tread is left on the tire, but he'd probably be worth picking up to complement Zac Stacey. Better than all our other backups. Of course that's not saying much with the likes of Peed himself still on our roster.

I say no. we have other needs. The guy doesn't really play that hard. He proved that after receiving his big contract. I think Richardson can still be a good #2 back. He just got banged up last year behind a bad Oline.

He wants be a number 1 back and he would not be that here. Plus Fisher already put the kabosh to that a few weeks ago.

I would be OK with it as long as he could be had cheap and Fisher could control his attitude. Hell, adding him would give us a thunder(Stacy) and lightning (Johnson) that would wreak havoc! Opposing defenses would have to stack the box only opening up the passing game! But we would definitely have to beaf up our line (Robinson) to do this. Could happen! Going this route would be better than taking a 6'1" speedy wr!

I agree with jacobarch. We're good where we stand at RB. Free agency should be used to fill in other holes. Positions of real need.

Ah, but both of you are missing the point. If C. Johnson wants to play for Fisher then he'll blend in and the one two punch will be just what this offense needs. We'll get the holes filled soon enough. This would be a good signing.

I see no problem with the Rams taking a chance with Johnson. If it doesn't work out then, it doesn't work out. If it does work out it could be a sweet deal for the Rams.

If the Rams are going to make Bradford just a game manager and run the crap out of the ball, shorten the game with runs and 1st downs, play big defense, then I say sign him, draft Robinson and a guard and go rest with defense.

If they can get him at a reduced rate and use him the way the Saints used Sproles I say yes. If they are going to give him a big contract and ask him to be an "every down" back then no.

I think he could be the change of pace RB that Pead was intended to be. Much along the lines of Britt pushing Quick, Johnson could push Pead (if he makes the roster of course).

Everybody seems to be forgetting about Daryl Richardson and Benny Cunningham. Hell... who said Pead is even in the pecking order anymore? I (hopefully) think we've done all the pushing we're gonna do with that guy. Lol.

Richardson and Cunningham or just "guys" who could be easily replaced.

I wouldn't be upset to see any of the 3 go.

Richardson has never been more than a reserve in my eyes. We haven't seen a lot of Benny yet, but he's not a big change of pace. Pead would be, and as long as he's on the roster, he's in the pecking order. If he ever clicks, he can do things neither of the other two can contribute. He is in the Chris Johnson mold (quick, fast, receiver out of the backfield), with obviously little to nothing to show for it at the NFL level yet.

IMO Pead will never ever click dude. He just doesn't have it. Every single year we see players "flash" in games as rookies or 2nd year players. Even if they don't have the best rookie year you see that glimpse of what they'll do once they get up to speed with the NFL. Just like Tavon Austin, sure he didn't have the greatest rookie year of all time but we saw what he can do when he's put in good situations by our OC. When have we ever seen Pead flash? Lord knows he's had his chances.
We've tried him at RB, Kick returner, and on ST. I've never seen him make a play. Only bonehead mistakes.
