Good luck to the Sea Dogs, julian. Your Sharks looked quite impressive last night as well.

As for me, Go Tigers Go!

Edit: A little write-up on the Tigers - Wheat Kings matchup...

Players to Watch

Tigers:

Linden Vey - C (46G, 70A, 116P)
Vey exploded with 116 points to lead the league and win the Bob Clarke Trophy as the WHL's leading scorer. The dominant center is tough for teams to defend against because he can hurt you making a pin-point pass or finding the opening with his shot.

Emerson Etem - RW (45G, 35A, 80P)
Etem's 45 goals this season were good enough for 5th in the entire league and just one off of Vey's team leading 46 markers. Since returning from the World Juniors, Emerson has been unstoppable, scoring 45 points (24G, 21A) in 33 games.

Tyler Bunz - G (35-13-4-4, 2.47 GAA, .919 Save %)
Bunz has been a rock in net for the Tigers all year long. His .919 save percentage and 2.47 goals against average rank second and third respectively in the WHL. Bunz's best games are when the pressure is on.

Wheat Kings:

Mark Stone - RW (37G, 69A, 106P)
Stone ranked third in WHL scoring this season and really seemed to turn it on when the Wheat Kings needed him the most. Over the final 15 games, Stone tallied an astonishing 34 points (9G, 25A).

Scott Glennie - C (35G, 56A, 91P)
The 8th overall pick in the 2009 NHL draft put together another solid season. Glennie was once again a point a game player and surpassed 300 points in his career.

Matt MacKay - C (29G, 51A, 80P)
The former Tiger has been successful against his old club this season. In 2 games MacKay has 4 points (1G, 3A). His goal came with 12 seconds left in the previous game to force an overtime frame which they would win on a penalty shot. Since being traded to Brandon, he has averaged 1.68 points per game.

Thanks Dash! Good luck to your Tigers as well, unless of course we meet at the Memorial Cup. ;)

Looks like the Sea Dogs might break through this year Julian. They had one damn impressive record this season.

I want to see Spokane/Medicine Hat in the WHL final. That would be pretty cool. Long ways to go though. It's a very tough road for both teams.

Hmmm... might have to spring for the extra cable package to get the NHL Network. I liked watching those junior games last year.

Go Whalers!

Spokane and Chilliwack about to drop the puck on game 1 of the series. I'll be providing updates throughout the game because I have nothing better to do. :D

How's St. John's doin'?

The QMJHL website says it's the start of the 3rd period. I have a hard time believing that considering it's like midnight there. Someone is slacking. But after two Saint John was up 8-0 so I think it's safe to say they won.

The Sea Dogs' website says they won game 1 10-0.

About 8 mins to go in the first in Chilliwack. 0-0, Spokane is outshooting the Bruins 10-3 and the Chiefs are 1-1 on the PK.

Bruins Defenseman Zach Habscheid had to be helped to the locker room. Hopefully he'll be OK.

First intermission still 0-0. Spokane's penalty killing is up to the task so far killing both penalties called in the first.

Spokane kills another penalty early in the 2nd and then pots one on their first PP chance of the game. Kramer gets the goal from Kichton.

Forsyth ties the game for Chilliwack midway through the second. Even strength goal.

Gore stops Koper on a breakaway and Chilliwack turns it around for a 2 on 1 and Crooks buries it. Chilliwack leads 2-1.

2nd intermission, still 2-1 Chilliwack. Spokane has 1:22 of PP time to start the third period. The Chiefs are gonna have to start doing something different, because it's clear what they've been doing the last couple games against Gore isn't working.

Chiefs start out with relentless pressure in the third and it pays off. Johnson roofs one on Gore! 2-2

Chilliwack takes another penalty. Chiefs get 1:28 of 5 on 3.

Now Koper takes a penalty. 4 on 3...
