I don't believe for a second Bo will hire a different DC. If that were the case he'd have let Papuchis go last Sunday/Monday. If Bo's running the defense anyway, how would Papuchis be missed?

Bo is simply buying more time and making minor tweaks to continue trying to make his system work.

Practice Sunday instead of Monday (ok)
Less X's and O's, more fundamentals (not specific)
Square peg in a round hole (not specific)
Same cast of characters (not addressed)

All we can do is watch and see. I'd bet more of the same, and at least one more blow-out this season.

as with most things Bo he's too stubborn to consider anything you mentioned. Plus he has an ego that doesn't represent the lack of success he's had in big games. He won't hire experienced coaches because he wants complete control.

And this is the interesting thing that's different between him and TO and I was hoping TO would impart some of his philosophy to Bo. Osborne ran the program with more of a business approach. Sure he was the CEO but he wanted staffs input. I just don't get the sense that Bo really buys any approach resembling this. He's the head man and prefers "yes" men around him rather than seeking input. It's an outdated archiac model and will only give so much success rather than using a more open apprach seeking input.

For those of you content with middle of the road success (9 wins a year), I'm happy for you but that is not what Nebraska football is all about. We should know the basics, have pride in the team (and here I'm referrig to the players). We should play as a team. We should never quit. Alot of the above is lacking and I put the onus on the top guy.

Truth be told Bo Pelini would be the perfect fit to replace Frank Solich as HC @ Ohio. The fire and loose tongue would be a perfect match.

P. S. No more talk about hiring "experienced assistants" as our new HC. Let's show the football world we mean business by hiring someone that has the experience (and success) to get the job done-here-if we end up hiring a new HC.
