The Chiefs fans are going to try and break the world record crowd noise which I guess is held by Seattle fans tomorrow in KC as the play Oakland. What are the odds that they will do it?

Chiefs fans hoping to break world record for crowd noise on Sunday - SBNation.com

The Kansas City Chiefs are enjoying a resurgent season, and their fans are looking to get into the record books. The crowd at Arrowhead Stadium is looking to set the Guinness world record for loudest sports venue when they host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

A Guinness official will be on hand at the stadium to see if Chiefs fans can top the decibel levels reached by the Seattle Seahawks fans last month. The famed 12th Man set the record on September 16 when the Seahawks blew out the San Francisco 49ers in CenturyLink Field. The noise level was first recorded at 131.9 decibels in the first quarter, breaking the previous record held by a Turkish soccer game in 2011. Seahawks fans broke their own record in the third quarter, reaching 136.6 decibels.

Arrowhead Stadium is known for having one of the best game day atmospheres in football, and a 5-0 start has rejuvenated the fanbase after last year's dismal 2-14 campaign. If anyone could reach the noise levels at CenturyLink, the Arrowhead faithful might be the ones best suited to pull it off.

Highest DB level in Arrowhead recorded is at 116 ( 3rd loudest in the world) should be interesting to see if that is topped first of all.

Just beat Oakland, that's all I want and care about. World records for noise mean what?

Idk, it would be funny to see some posters reactions here if Arrowhead got the record back. Of course beating the Raiders on raider hater week is priority #1

I am shocked that the 116 DBs came during the 2005 season? Oh well, this year should get all the fans riled up real quick against the Raiders.

My guess is we are at the 125 DB area.

Could take a lot of Guinness to get the noise level to record height!

While Arrowhead's bowl shape certainly keeps a great deal of sound within the stadium, it is an inferior design in terms of projecting noise onto the field than the link in Seattle.

Stadium engineering does come in to play here. I doubt they have a chance.

I was there to help set the record and watch the 9ers get embarrassed for the 2nd straight trip to Seattle. The intensity for a rivalry game among two contending teams had a lot to do with the sound levels reached. I dont see the Raiders getting the fans in KC energized enough to come close.

It'll be closer than you think probably.

Yeah, the only two things Arrowhead has going for it is the bowl shape that hovers right next to the field, and the large stadium capacity. The only way noise escapes is to go straight up. I really don't see how Arrowhead competes with a stadium specifically designed to be loud as loud as it is.

Sigh...Ok there is a over hang that helps with the noise. Domes actually cover the whole stadium, yet posters act like this partial over hang that keeps part of the crowd from getting wet from rain and snow is some how a unique engineering feat. Gets a little old and really who cares? It's not Seahawks fans that bring up how loud the Clink is, it's those who feel they got to dis credit the noise that bring it up.

Why waste time pursuing such a trivial record.

Is some headache remedy manufacturer sponsoring this idiocy?

Meh, this thread is about Arrowhead, not the field in Coffeeville.
