I'm no expert, but I'd say the Bears are killing it this offseason. If they can follow this up with a good draft, it could arguably be one of the better offseasons in my lifetime.

The Bears signed him off waivers when Bennett went to the IR. He caught 3 passes for 27 yards. He was put on IR by cleveland for hamstring issues but then got released and bears signed him in december. Looking for Bennett to be moved before or during the draft.

Definitely downgrading the TE position, if he is the opening day starter.

Yeah, Hosler is just a body. Blocking guy, they needed anyway. They still have A. Lee, the guy they traded for from the Texans.

Bennett is still under contract for next year.
If they flip him for a draft pick, I won't be upset, If they simply release him, that's not cool. But I'm fully on board with Fox & Pace's credo of:
"Don't like the way we do things? See-YA!"
"want to bitch about money? See-ya!"
"want to not be a team player? Buh-bye!"

I just love the way they are dealing with Free Agency. Targeting players right around their 3rd/4th year in the league....all seem to be up-and-coming young players, ready to burst onto the scene and make names for themselves. All seem to be nasty and play with chips on the respective shoulders. McPhee last year. Trevathan and Hicks this year. They aren't blowing their wad on over-priced veterans.


I feel like Pace is going to be here for awhile. I think the arrow is pointing way up with this team.

Interesting catch 22 if Bennett is retained by the Bears to play next season. If he doesn't play hard and get targeted and thrown to, or block correctly, no one will be willing to pay him big money coming off contract, same if he has any injury issues, sitting games, or not playing his hardest sort of thing, like it looked like he did some last year.

Martellus Bennett is a stud, but maybe a bit of a cancer it seems? Miller was a nice surprise in his absence last year. Glad they brought him back.


Now let's get something for Bennett and not just fucking give him away!
