Desmond Ridder starting tonight, @Xeliou66....

I hope Baby Raider Jesus is looking out for us tonight. SMH.
I think things may get ugly for you guys, Ridder is horrid, but the Falcons losing to Ridder would be downright humiliating which means there’s a chance it happens.

Big FA signing Chtistian Wilkins played just 5 games.

Traded WR Davante Adams. After letting Josh Jacobs walk as a FA to Green Bay.

No QB to speak of this season between Minshew, AOC and Ridder.

And now Crosby is out for the rest of the season.

SMH.

If we manage to beat you guys it takes you out of the running for a WC I think. Pretty much eliminates you.

But, with Ridder starting and your defense knowing his tendencies I think the Falcons win this one. Although, I did bet with my heart and take the Raiders + the points and the ML on the off chance we win. Also, took the under as I usually do....think this one will be low scoring. More than usual.

The Raiders are just a dysfunctional mess. Hiring McDaniels was stupid and Pierce doesn’t look like a good hire either.
And yes this is a must win for the Falcons, if we somehow lose this one our season is done and we should begin the Penix era.

Mark Davis is busy selling minority shares.....when he should be selling the damn franchise.

He is nothing like his dad, Al Davis.

Hiring McDaniels set back the franchise a few years, especially when we released Carr.....

Just stupid.

They are talking about the Vikes paying or not paying Darnold.

What would McCarthy fetch this offseason in a trade???

On one hand it is a poor QB draft class. On the other hand you already have one year gone of teaching a kid your system.

Wouldnt be 1st round value though. Right?!?

McCarthy needed to sit a year anyway IMO. He's way too young and way too raw to be marching out there as a starter year 1. There's no way they'll trade him. Darnold will prob. be FT'd and traded for a 2nd rounder and that'll be that.

I'm guessing they'll keep Darnold and McCarthy. McCarthy is still with the team and it's not like they sent him into exile, they probably asked him to figure out the playbook, watch tapes and figure out how to be a NFL QB. I also think they'll resign Darnold unless the price tag is ridiculous, it can't hurt to have him around and if McCarthy develops they can then trade Darnold. Right now he appears to be an asset, you don't just let assets walk away.

I just looked, he has a 1 year 10m contract, what do you think it would take to resign him? I know it only takes one other bidder to drive the price up, but would a 3year 100m be something another team would do?

I still think they'll move forward with McCarthy who was anticipated to win the starting job before his injury. Resigning Darnold is going to commit too much while McCarthy will be mega cheap and they can get a 3rd round compensatory + bolster an already fantastic defense and improve protection + weapons for McCarthy. McCarthy is basically plug and play and while he needed a year just to gain some fuckin' muscle, he was the most pro ready QB of the draft (in terms of scheme, IQ, etc.).

I see zero reason they'd keep Darnold on the payroll if McCarthy is good to go. Yah Darnold will get paid, which is why he'll be FT'd and then traded for a 1st or 2nd round pick and then get paid to the acquiring team.

Do you believe another team will trade a 2nd for him. I sure don't see a first and not sure I see anybody that desperate. FT'd is franchise tagged, right? Want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

I know it benefits my team and all but I don’t think a team should be able to franchise tag a guy who was on the team for a single year. Doesn’t seem right.

They tag him and they are basically locking in the trading team into paying him 3 year $150m range in terms of real money (even bigger when you start adding the likely fake money part of the deal).

That seems like too much especially when you factor in the pick it would take too. My feelings anyway.

But man I hope I’m wrong. Be nice to get an extra pick.
