For the second time this season, the Detroit Red Wings will make a limited number of $9 tickets available to fans for select homes games during the remainder of the 2011-2012 regular season. The specially-priced tickets go on sale this Saturday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. and are only available at the Joe Louis Arena Box Office. The deal will apply for all home games from January through the end of the regular season slate in early April, including six premium home games where tickets will start at $19.

I don't care if they are nosebleeders, that's a heck of a deal.

There are no seats like that at the Joe. It may be an old dump, but there's not a bad seat in the house.

Just avoid the women's bathrooms, you'll miss two thirds of the game stuck in that line..

i've been to numerous wings games. I've had seats in the nosebleed sections, been almost right down to the glass and even had games in the press boxes.

this is from one of the press boxes. this was by far my favorite view because even though you are ways away from the ice surface you have an overhead view and it makes it seem like you are right on top of the action.

It's pretty awesome that even in this era of parity in hockey, St Louis still needs 8 extra skaters on the ice to have a chance against Detroit. :drum:

It's too bad those are only available at the press box. That's a long trip to find out they are sold out... then again, if I can get my family into a hockey game for under $40, that's a steal.

^ Are they not selling out these days? Or are the fans just really bad about getting there on time?

$9 is really low. I used to get $12 nosebleeds for the Caps, but that was almost a decade ago. Can't remember the last time I bought an actual pair of tickets from the team itself. I just use re-sellers and go see the less desirable games for 1/2 price.
