Price looks like a completely different goal-tender this year. He's magnetic right now. No ugly rebounds anymore, and his positioning today was spot on

Congrats Comeds

Thanks man, good game. Pretty uninspired 3rd after a little excitement in the late 2nd. Price made a few big saves when he had to, 2 out of the 3 goals Fluery let in I do not think he had much of a chance.

Good luck tomorrow and I hope Staal isn't hurt seriously.

Does anyone else wish they would just shut Crosby down. This is getting ridiculous, the season is over in a few weaks and he isnt even skating.

why don't you just assume he's done, and then it's a nice surprise if he's not?
you're driving yourself loopy

Why? If he's not healty, he won't play. But suppose he goes symptom free for four weeks, feels great, and the Pens are in the playoffs. You'd want him shut down in that case? Doesn't many any sense.

Oh and Pens played like complete shite today. Habs played a perfect game against them. Price looked good, great save on Neal.

Even if he is sympton free when does he skate to get in shape? I dont see how he could be back unless he is already doing some type of conditioning which doesnt seem to be the case right now.

I wish I could, it would make things easier. Watching games and seeing the PP go 1-23 or whatever the hell it is makes me hope he is doing some work and getting ready but common sense tells me I am a dumbshit for thinking he will be back. So I wish they would say something so I can lower the expectations for this season even though they keep haning on to 4th. Clearly this team is set for a 4-5 game exit.

that's what im doing..

and crosby symptom-free playing at 75% is still the best forward on the team. not ready to shut him down yet.

Even if he comes back at less than 100% conditioning, he's still better than 95% of our team.

Again, what's the point of shutting him down? What benefit does that serve? If there is still a chance he can come back to play this season, in the playoffs, without further injury risk, then it makes no sense. And there still is a chance.

That's fine. I can understand that. I just don't understand why someone people want the Pens to "shut him down for the season" when that serves no benefit other than placating fans who can't handle the lack of updates.

with concussions, the brain needs to REST. being symptom free still might be fragile.
if he rushes back to get a few games in there could be a risk of re-aggravating. imho (no, I'm not a doctor), neither of the hits were that bad, but the fact that he hadn't healed from the first is what made the 2nd do so much damage.

taking the summer off would just be the safest thing for him

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that once you'd been concussion free for a few weeks and through intense workouts, there's no evidence that further rest will benefit you.

If the opposite is true, if there's a medical belief out there that extra rest will decrease your chance of further damage, it'd be a different story and I'd be singing a different tune. But I haven't heard that.
