Safe to say that the Indians are done. With about 10 days left in the season they trail Houston by 4 games.

Twins are now tied with Houston in the Loss column but played 3 less games while the Angels trail Houston by just 1 game in the loss column.

I have a feeling there will be a one game playoffs to decide the 2nd WC spot which would benefit the Yankees as that means whichever team they face may have to use their best starter in the 2nd WC play in game.

A look ahead at the weekend looks like this. Cleveland head to Detroit, Houston is at home hosting the Rangers, and the Angels are at home hosting the Mariners

Would only benefit you vs twins because you own us like a slave owner

Under this scenario though we use Santana in 163 and don't burn shit. Duffey(assuming we are smart) would be still available.

This shit is getting good heading into the final week.

Stros and Angels are basically tied with the Stros playing one more game being the only difference in the standings. Minnesota is 1.5 back but played 1 less game than Houston.

Houston heads to Seattle, Minnesota heads to Cleveland, & Anaheim is home to Oakland. Pretty obvious the Angels have the easiest series of 3. Will be pretty surprised if they're not in the 2nd WC spot on Thursday Morning. I think Houston will hang on by the skin of their teeth because that 4 game series to end the series in Texas will likely do the Angels in

Even though this thread was made for the AL Wildcard, I just thought I would mentioned the critical series taking place in PNC park starting tomorrow. Pirates if they can sweep can probably steal the Central and send the Cards into a 1 game playoffs against the best pitcher in baseball next week

Good thing for the Yanks if Houston gets the WC spot is that Keuchel is going on Saturday.

I'm not paying enough attention to all the scenarios and who would play where, but he's a different pitcher on the road...or maybe it's that the team gives him different run support on the road.

15-0 at home, 4-8 elsewhere

Well he destroyed us at the Stadium last time he faced us so I prefer not to face them.

I just read where Hinch might alter his rotation so that IF they are in the one-game playoff, Dallas isn't on 3 days rest.

Gotta take care of that IF first, though...you're not even in the playoffs yet and you can't afford to drop any games.

Exactly there is no way any of those teams can set up their rotation for the Yanks unless some crazy shit happens in the next 3 games. More than likely this won't be decided until at the earliest Saturday but most likely Sunday.

Twins fucked themselves by losing to Detroit on Friday, so we are not looking good to make it. But they will have Duffey available for the 1 game playoff which is big.

So no matter what the end result is of the Angels/Rangers game, The 3 teams will enter the weekend separated by 1 game. The only question is if LAA will be tied with Houston for the 2nd WC or 1 game behind with the Twins

Twins are going to have some big decisions if they win the first two games vs KC.

The thought was Gibson on short rest Sunday. Which will be fine if we are not going to have a Monday tiebreaker game. Can't pitch Duffy for that one.

That would leave Hughes..at Yankee Stadium. Thats a 15 run loss.

Hughes will have to pitch Sunday or Monday. Molitor has to choose which to gamble.

Sucks that Santana would be allowed to pitch the game 163 but thats 2 days rest so hes out. And Tuesday is 2 days rest for Milone so he cant face yanks either.

Of course..have to win tomorrow for anything to matter

Even with the Astros' poor September performance, I'd still say their season's been a huge success. They've gone from 51 wins in 2013 to 85+ in 2015. It's not like they've been lucky this year either, they have a +109 run differential and they've actually underperformed their pythag by 7 wins. They could have a core in Keuchel, Correa (who looks to be an exceptional talent), Altuve, Springer and McCullers. And then there's other young players like Marisnick, Tucker and Velasquez. They still have a very good farm system too.

Also, Mark Appel. Correa is unreal. Legitimate candidate for best SS in MLB going into 2016.

Angels rally monkey magic strikes again with a 5 run 9th inning to beat the Rangers and get within half a game of the Astros. I want the Astros to lose today just so it's tied going into Sunday.
