Besides KIFFIN's goal line play calling when USC was trying to come back against ND (YOU Face!), have you ever seen coaches actively trying to fuck over their own team and give the game away as Strong and Watson against WVU last night? Fuck. We were up by two scores with less than seven minutes at the edge of field goal range. All we had to do is run the ball three straight times (which we were doing pretty well all game) and kick a fg for a three score lead.
Instead we pass (which we couldn't do all second half AT ALL) and we leave WVU in the game with time on the clock. And we had failed to take time off the clock the previous series doing the same shit.

And wtf are you thinking Swoopes throwing an int in that situation and throwing another pass thst should have been intercepted? How fucking stupid do you have to be to throw two desperate dangerous passes UP by two scores in the 4th Q?

Fuck, he doesn't ggfow the ball awsy when sweeping out of the pocket, and then he DOES throw desperate passes UP by two scores in the 4th. FUCK

They are still a young offensive line, young 2nd string QB, and brand new coaching staff....
They are going to have troubles closing out wins more than anything.

They completely choked away a win vs UCLA, almost blew it versus ISU, and tried against WVU.
That is normal growing pains stuff.

It is frustrating, but that seemingly always happens with inexperience.
Closing out wins is the toughest thing for new faces.

Hopefully this game will be a teaching moment.
Texas should have won like 45-6....instead TEXAS stupidly made it a bit dicey inexplicably.

Charlie Strong should not need teaching moments. It's straight logic and clock management 101.

Swoopes' actions might be understandable by your measure but not forgivable.

Charlie Strong and Watson's actions are unforgivable and beyond any understanding. Completely ridiculous.

Maybe there was something going on that inexplicably made TEXAS start passing?
That is the only reason that could make even a tiny bit of sense.

I wasn't on the field. Maybe WVU was selling out on 9 man run blitzes?
Although sadly TEXAS did not even need positive yards. They only needed to start the clock.

A crappy run play for half a yard would have worked instead of the 5 incompletions/1 interception they decided to use.

Heck even a kneeldown would have done the trick on the 2nd time around.
IT was a bit of coaching lunacy.

I will give them this one free pass though....don't let it keep happening again.

Watson's done an admirable job getting Swoopes to be serviceable after Ash went down.

The play calls, at times, have been mind-boggling. However, there have been a number of great play calls as well. And a chunk of the bad calls would look better if the players would execute the play.

In the end, Watson's position on the team is just like all the players: it's always on the line, produce or get replaced.

Swoops sucks big time. 11/29 for 124. Why the hell can't we get a Boykin type QB. We need to move on.

next year, Heard will be in the mix. Plus getting Zach Gentry, a top 100 player, but he'll probably redshirt. Anyway, who knows who might show up. But going to have to get through next year

Swoopes is not a good QB, as he has shown all season long.

I get that he was a surprise fill in this year due to injury and has had to deal with O-Line issues too. But he has proven that he just doesn't have it. Ohio State had a similar issue early on this season and they have adjusted and developed their offense nicely. Also, JT Barrett is far better than Swoopes, so that helps things greatly. Can't thank yall enough for passing on him, haha. :suds:

I am not following the complaint. 6:38 left Texas goes run, run, pass. Only passing on 3rd and 13. They get it back with 3 minutes and run it in for a TD.

Pass was unnecessary and dangerous. And check the series before that

So give up? You go for the first down in that circumstance. It's a 16 pts lead, so theoretically it a 2 TD lead(with conversions). Over 5 minutes to go at that time, that is forever in CFB. Swoopes is a lot of things, but interception prone is not one of them. He actually takes care of the football. He only has 6 Ints on the season.

Yeah. You run and take time off. Or only throw in a completely safe situation., otherwise just take a sack, fall down. Because the only downside of that is another 35 off the clock and pinning WVU deep in their territory.

The downside of doing what we actually did: clock stops several times, an int, and another that should have been an int on two consecutive series.

Desperation throws on third and long up two scores with 6 minutes left is never an answer. Getting that particular first fown is no where close to that important

Did you watch Kiffin try and throw the LSU game last night? We passed the ball FORTY TIMES. We practice balance, and he didn't even TRY to establish the run game. Almost lost because of it.
