This league better not be fucking retarded, we can't afford to lose Chara right now. I can deal with 1 or 2 games, and I dont believe there shouyld be any, but if they give him any more than that it's a fucking joke.

I'm not trying to be heartless, but that was not a dirty hit. I hope Pac the best, and hope he recovers quickly, but shit happens. Chara is not dirty.

lol dspice, sad but true. Honestly this isn't a homer thing. As fucked up as the outcome was, that was not an intentional hit into the turnbuckle... It was a freak accident that, had that hit taken place anywhere else on the ice, a penalty probably wouldn't even have been given out.

ha no i agree anywhere else on the ice the hit wouldn't have resulted in any type of injury.

BUT . . . per the rules that actually is a penalty, a lowly interference.

that being said, i am not one that buys in to the fact that Chara is some do gooder out there on the ice. i think he is 100% aware of what he does as much as any good player. he knew where he was and that is why i think he will get suspended. if Pronger was in the same situation i would defend him, but i would know that he did it on purpose ha.

I guess I can somewhat agree with a lot of what he said. Anything more than two games will be ridiculous though. I'm sure he will get a minimum of two games seeing as Campbell isn't doing the honors.

I understand the need for Colie to recuse himself, but I kinda don't like it either, since now we're ensured once again of having no consistency in the disciplinary stuff.

I guess that's more of a comment on the fact that Colie has the only word normally than anything else.

It kind of looked intentional. Wasn't the dirtiest thing I have ever seen just because something like that can happen at any time.

Chara is just a big, strong guy though. He seemed like he was aware of the stanchion coming up and pushed him into it. If he 100% meant to do it, I would give him many more games. But since it is so hard to prove intent, especially in this situation, I think Chara should only be punished for not controlling himself and holding up on the hit.

He lost it out there. Maybe not intent to injure (and maybe yes), but he was looking to light up Pacioretty. I want to believe that he didn't think his head was gonna be the target, but he must have known the stanchion was there. I've seen the big guy try to lift his team when they're playing poorly in a big game before. He can't razzle dazzle, so he usually just tries to fuck somebody up. It's never been really dirty before, tho. A big hit or a fight - maybe a minor penalty thing. This time he fucked up.

I want to believe that he was hoping for this kind of result, and it went bad. But that might be my black and gold glasses.

It's a game played at a lightning quick pace with fast, strong agile men who have to make split second decisions. Unfortunately, big Z made a bad decision at the wrong place and Max P. paid the price. I think Zdeno will take a seat for at least 3 games.
