It's an A+ signing if they want Champ for his leadership ability and general presence on the field as a non-starter.

It's an F signing if they expect Champ to be the starting #1 or #2 CB position. Basically, put him slot or #4+ and call it a day.

The fact they just paid $7M makes me think the Saints want him #1 or #2, in which case lol.

Signing a guy for leadership ability and presence is only worth it if the guy makes an impact on the field.

Who's your NFC south prediction for next year since you boldly predicted falcons would fall last year?

Wouldn't be a bad idea to consider putting him over the top at FS... The Steelers considered doing the same with Ike Taylor before signing Mike Mitchell.

Wow someone who remembered :omg::suds:

Bit easier this year, but I gotta give the nod to the Saints. I think the Panthers will falter after a surprise year and I don't expect the Falcons to do much given glaring holes on the lines and overall defense. Not going to predict records, but anyone that didn't see the 2013-2014 Falcons being bad was off their rocker. But I sure got quite a bit of 'hater' comments from Falcons (and other) fans. Most of which, "You're just bitter they beat up on Seattle." You wont believe some of the comments (mostly targeted at racism) I got when I called RG3 a bust prior to the draft. TBD on that one *rolls eyes*.

And to add on:

The Saints are pulling a bit of a "win now" approach (not near as bad as Broncos, good lord that team is doomed once Peyton moves on) but I like what they field. They've kept the offense in tact and added tremendous leadership to the D. Can it all translate on the field? TBD.

I actually don't like the Bailey pick up and Byrd is a C grade to me because of the cash, but that said - if you have it and feel the window is closing - spend it. Brees isn't getting any younger so you might as well drive for the championship now before you're starting over.

Either way, the Saints have too much talent on the roster to lose the division, the Falcons DID NOT a year ago. The Broncos are kind of a lol situation since Manning is enough to catapult them to the playoffs. They literally picked up all the FAs to get a Super Bowl. I think the Broncos are going to disappoint BIG time this season with a 10-6/11-5 record. Yes that's playoff bound, but everyone is expecting them to go 16-0.

I see Manning HIGHLY regressing and the Broncos a 2nd round exit in the playoffs. I said that a month ago so no surprises here (to anyone that reads my comments).

It's a good signing for Saints. More secondary depth is always a good thing. Now if they spend a high pick on a corner, they won't have to throw him into the fire right away.

The saints can be the top seed in the playoffs.....not many challenging road games out of the division while Seattle has plenty

I predicted ATL to comeback to the pack (didn't see 4-12 though) LY...I picked NO 1st, ATLnd, CAR rd, and TB4th.

This year...NO 1st, ATL 2nd, CAR 3rd, TB 4th.

Not much glamor but the NFCS top to bottom could be very tough if TB has solved the QB position.

I was on the ESPN forums and made a post regarding them when you said the falcons will go back to irrelevance or something like that.
