Well it looks like the Center position could get interesting. Raiola has put on 20 pounds of mostly muscle in the offseason so far and will be playing at least at 310 lbs. We have beaten this guy to death about being weak and small. Could this be a rebirth for him now that he is bigger and stronger? The problem is he is getting old, but it is looking more and more like Nagy will not be ready and I don't think Gandy is the answer (more of a short term Band-Aid at times at best) either. We have also made some acquisitiions too but no one that been overly successful at center.

So what do you think happens for the next few years?

I think Raiola will hold onto the job this year b/c I think Nagy will get stashed on IR for another season. But after that he's long gone.

It also seems to me that if Dom had the ability to pack on 20 pounds of muscle without hurting his game then he would have long, long ago, so that makes me nervous. If it does work and he's suddenly drastically better, then he's a total idiot and we should all drive to Detroit after the season and kick the shit out of him for not doing it way sooner...

He just finally gave in to using PED's because his body's getting older and he was about to lose his career.

Whats all this I am hearing about PEDs?

Why are people so against others wearing these little socks? How does it make it an unfair advantage for those who wear them?

It's because they have those grips on the bottom- gives them extra traction in their cleats...

OOOHH! I see now. You guys are right. That is definitely an unfair advantage. I hope Dom tries them, he will still need all the help he can get

Why did it take him 13 seasons to figure this out?

Because there was never a chance he would lose his job until this year. He also probably feels like he needs an extra edge to keep playing and he is probably right.

This is great news. Now that tub of lard that gets thrown back at Stafford is going to weigh 20 lbs. more.

I guess it is better news than no news. Getting back the same guy only a year older would be somewhat troubling considering all the changes.

Not that Reiff was small before but he apparently has also added size. Just read on NFL.com that he has added 10 lbs of muscle. Pretty clear indication that the Lions want to be more physical up front.

Didn't Sims put on like 15-20 lbs last season?

I do not know the answer to that question but in the spirit of being a true fan I too have packed on 15 lbs. I followed a strict exercise program of driving right past the gym everyday coupled with a diet of beer and weed followed by eating everything with salt on it in my house and then half a box of Captain Crunch right before passing out. Quite frankly I was amazed at how easy the transformation was.

Sounds like we're on the exact same work-out plan Dr. Evil-er... :)

Not me. Easy transformation? Yes. But as redneck as I am, I could never bring myself to wearing sweat pants. If I put on 15 lbs., I can't button my 28 waist jeans. And if I can't button my jeans, that would mean I would have to go shopping. There is no worse fate life has to offer than having to go shopping. I would rather be beat down by a 75 lb. little girl in front of all of my friends, than have to go shopping.

Why do I get the feeling that this already happened?
