Center is a deep position in the draft

ESPN's Mel Kiper believes Iowa C Austin Blythe is a sleeper.

Kiper ranks Blythe as the No. 6 center in the class. "He was just so consistently good," Kiper wrote. "The coaches there rave about him." Blythe was consistently one of Pro Football Focus' top-graded run-blocking offensive linemen this past season. And you know the NFL loves them some Iowa offensive linemen.


It looks like the draft will have a lot of centers to choose from. I think Kelly from Bama is ranked #1. I guess Screff would tell Scot about this guy Blythe both being from Iowa. IF we are going to the power run scheme then Blythe must be on SM's radar. If Mack doesn't come to us via FA then the draft should address the center position.

Its a deep position. I will predict that if we don't sign a FA Center we will draft a center in rounds 2 thru 4. Remember no 5th round pick this year.

Supposedly, we've got our eye on Wiz from Jacksonville. But the Raiders let him go after his rookie contract expired and Jacksonville may not re-sign. If so, I'm wondering if that's a bad sign. Having said that, I like drafting people rather than signing FAs.
