Piggybacking on VTsparks post there are a lot of young players the skins have invested time and roster spots in.

Some may develop into quality starters while others may just be a waste of resources and time. I do not think this is an area where the Skins excel in. Sometimes letting players go who havent hit their ceiling while other times wasting too much time developing players who dont have a high ceiling. Here are some young players:

Jonathan Allen - 23
Ryan Anderson - 23
Tyler Catalina - 25
Jamison Crowder - 24
Robert Davis - 22
Josh Doctson - 25
Quinton Dunbar - 25
Deshazor Everett - 26
Maurice Harris - 25
Harvey-Clemons - 24
Joshua Holsey - 23
Matt Ioannidis - 24
Kyle Kalis - 24
Anthony Lanier - 24
Fabian Moreau - 23
Samaje Perine - 22
Chase Roullier - 24
Preston Smith - 25
Martrell Spaight - 24
Jeremy Sprinkle - 23
Montae Nicholson - 22
Sua Cravens - 22

Jonathan Allen, Crowder, Doctson, Preston Smith, and Nicholson IMO all have pro bowl/all pro potential

Dunbar, Roullier, Sprinkle, Moreau, all have starter potential

Ryan Anderson, Holsey, Ioannidis, Lanier, Maurice Harris have key player potential

Catalina, Robert Davis, Harvey-Clemons, Perine, Spaight, Kalis, Everett all have reserve/special team/journey men potential

Sua Cravens - who the hell knows.

***Just a shot at it. I havent seen too much out of a lot of these players so just a pure speculation for the fun of it. I think Jonathan Allen has Fletcher Cox All Pro Potential and that Preston Smith could be a DPOY at any time. I am probably also not as high on Ioannidis, Lanier, Perine, and Doctson as others.

cant argue with any of those things , some of the jouneyman / key player potential guys may flip or some might be added but overall a good stab at it

davis and harris could be guys who flip flop (or maybe not ) and harvey clemons could make a jump with compton being shown the door . but that is really nick /nit picking :D

Agree with both of you guys.

Doctson has a lot to prove still. Basically his 2nd year coming up. I’m hoping for a big jump for him, certainly if we can get a serviceable WR to play in the other side.

Perine I’m not huge on either. I don’t think he will develop into much more than another backup. I’m hoping with a deep RB draft we go after someone in the 2nd (maybe 3rd if we somehow get a pick) round. We just simply have had no one in years.

Cravens. I guess we will just have to wait and see if we can’t dump him for a decent pick.

I loved Cravens his rookie season. I almost got a jersey. Glad I held off.

I think the skins absolutely have to take advantage of this RB class and that doesnt mean taking one in the 4th round (unless its Penny) I would like to see the skins get aggressive and trade up for one in the early second if need be or send future picks to obtain another 2nd to capitalize on this deep class.

Doctson to me is a bit slow. He doesnt create separation. I have a lot of doubts about him being anything more then a WR2 or jump ball red zone guy.

Hell no. You do not trade up for a RB.
