There was talk on 710 ESPN (and has since been reported elsewhere) today that the Seahawks and Pete Carroll are in negotiations to extend his contract, as the 2016 season is the final season on his current deal. How many years do you think they'll re-sign him for and do you think that this will be his last deal? He's always had the energy of a man half his age and I could see him pulling a Dick LeBeau/Tom Moore and coaching well into his 70's if he wanted to and the team was still doing well.

Report: Pete Carroll, Seahawks talking contract extension

PC's making 8 mil now with that reworked contract after the SB victory so I'll take a shot and say he gets a new 5 yr/9 to 9.5mil a yr. What ever he gets, money well spent.

My guess is a 3 or 4 year extension on top of current contract, pushing him out through the '19 or '20 season.

Was talking this with my normal Friday happy hour crowd last night -- about how much longer PC will coach (in Seattle). I could see him sticking it out more or less through the end of RW's prime. I know that's going to stretch into his 70s, but he doesn't really seem to be losing any juice.

3 or 4 years sounds right to me. I also wonder how long Pete will want to coach.

The extension is essentially all on Pete. As long as he wants to keep going, Seattle's going to do what it takes to keep him. That they're negotiating is good, as it indicates Pete wants to keep going.

I'd be shocked if the extension is longer than 3-4 years, that seems to be Pete's MO.

Schneider's contract is up at the same time, hopefully that extension is next.
