obviously i SOLID free agent pick up, but what are the odds he remains? i'd guess less than 50% because too many teams will bid. he'll be the "Asomougha" of the next off-season.

The one thing the 49ers have going for them is that Rogers wants to stay here, and was trying to get a new contract early.

Good thing the Niners didn't blow a huge opprotunity with Ray McDonald by only offering a 1 year deal like they did with Carlos.

I hope they don't lose Rogers by being cheapskates. He was a real good addition to the team this year and seems like a hard worker. I remember hearing that he stays after preactice and works on catching balls from the JUGGS machine to try and strengthen his interception ability.

I think our biggest mistake would be to let him get away. We need to tag him if we can't agree to terms on a contract.

Tagging a CB will be expensive - but well worth it if he wants to test the market!

Much rather tag Rogers than Goldson

nobody wants to "cheapskates", but you have to manage an entire team. the more success you have, the more players want big money. it goes without saying he'll be the 'Asomougha' of the off-season, will we be surprised at his demand(s), hope not?

it takes two sides to agree on a new contract, and we can't just give him what he wants.

don't know where we stand with the cap, just saying there's a entire TEAM to account for.

Didn't want to make a new post for this so I'll just pass it along in this thread since it's from another insider article. Chris Sprow on ESPN.com created an entire roster out of the best cheap players this season. Bowman (756K cap number) and Goldson (2 million) made his roster. Others from the NFC West:

Seahawks - DE Chris Clemons (2.3M), CB Brandon Browner (About 375K), S Kam Chancellor (405K)

Cardinals - None

Rams - None
