JONES WAS GOING TO WALK OR COMMAND ALOT OF MONEY...

I said it was smart to move a DE that did hardly anything in college and will command a shit ton of money or walk for really 3 players, including a former all-Pro DE, young O-lineman and a 2nd rounder. At worst C Long is just in the rotation, but he's a good leader for younger D-lineman and that's where BB is headed with this.

That's what he does on defense. He reloads with young talent.

Chandler Jones went from a sorry ass Syracuse team where he was nothing but All Big east to really good on the Pats. BB can find another Chandler Jones to fill his scheme.

Yes that is very smart
lol college

Trent Richardson, Johnny Manziel, Sam Bradford, Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, Melvin Gordon....I could be here all day..

LOL those guys you listed ALL had great college careers too. What did Chandler Jones do before he got to the Pats is my point? Not a dam thing. Certainly wasn't as good as those guys you listed. So he did well under BB and that organization obviously and they feel like they can find another Chandler Jones.

Cooper was a top 10 pick - broke his fibula early in his rookie season. I'd say he was behind a bit and needs a fresh start somewhere else. Upside is huge.

Long is Long. He's cheaper than Jones.

2nd rounder? BB drafting?

3 for 1 for a guy that was going to break Kraft's piggy bank? It's a no brainer.

You act like BB doesn't know what he's doing. Maybe you should call him and let him know.

SO you get a former top 10 Olineman pick, and 2nd rounder in the draft.. For a DE that has made his 1st pro bowl and will command a lot of money? + you sign Chris Long?

Yeah that's not smart at all.

Belicheat and Kraft have been very adept at adding/subtracting players at the right time and they have hit the bulls eye more often than not in the draft. You don't win 4 Superbowls not being pretty damn good at making rapier personnel decisions and getting the most out of guys you bring in on a yearly basis. Belicheat may be a cheater and has the personality of a bucket of bolts but his system works. Again he has four rings and six Superbowl appearances in the last decade to prove it. He and Kraft are obviously doing something right compared to the Rams who have been the franchise of futility for the same time period.

Amendola may be on his way out of New England with their recent additions. Bring him back?

no

there is no need for him. we have Austin and the Rams don't know how to utilize 2 slot receivers. did you see how little they used Welker this past season? and that was with terrible outside receivers.

I do agree with you regarding the Pats drafting/personnel decisions.

but cheating played a huge role in them getting those 4 rings, so it's not like the drafting/FA's is what got them those rings. if it was, there would've been no reason for them to cheat.

Spot on ALR. Until this coaching staff understands how to use slot receivers, bringing in another one would be completely useless and a waste of money and a roster spot especially for a guy who is at the end of his career.

Like they just did with Welker? I would argue that the Rams have yet to use Austin as a true slot.

With or without Amendola doesn't matter to me, but he is an accomplished receiver that could be available. As far as the end of his career? He's 30. He may be past his prime, but he's not done.
