Why don't they just make all QBs wear one of those padded helmet covers a couple guys used to wear back in the 90's if they are so worried about concussions. I know that helped the Bengals, but there was nothing violent about that hit.

if you dont call it every time, then some players can abuse being able to do that and try to give a QB a concussion with every sack. It wont be a hard hit, but you take a few like that over a course of a game, and the damage can build up

Yeah, I get that. I just wish they could differentiate between leading with the helmet and incidental helmet to helmet contact.

You know how to differentiate? Tackle at the waist like you are taught since pop warner and don't go high.

I was always told to put my facemask into their numbers, but I know what you are saying. Although you don't see too much form tackling in the NFL.

They can bob their head, move their chest, fake with their arms and leap with their legs, but that waist is their center of gravity. They can't fake with it and that is where you should hit every time.
