A trade to STL for some prospects might be the way to go especially if the Phils could get OF Randal Grichuk, 23, currently blocked by Cards' OFs Jay, Holliday, and Heyward. Last year in AAA, Grichuk hit .259/.311/.493 with 25 homers and 23 doubles. As he moves up each year, he hits more HRs: A-18, AA- 22, AAA-25. Also he looks like Cole. lol. Yo Ruben!

of course the Cardinals want Hamels....just another instance of St. Louis trying to "buy" a good team

I don't care who makes the trade for Hamels. The real concern is that the front office does not make a fair trade, like we don't want to hear Amaro state in the coming weeks that he's excited to announce that he's traded Hamels for three low to mid-level prospects and a 32-year old utility guy with good hands.

I hope like Hell the St. Louis Cardinals are listening. They badly need a quality left-handed starting pitcher, and this guy's no dud. They were one good starting pitcher short of going all the way last year, in my opinion. Will they do anything about trying to acquire Cole, unfortunately, I doubt it.

Well, when we have guys die tragically and then get hurt routinely then thats what gms are forced to do. Im sure STL would've loved to stand pat on their farm system

Did it take you 3 months come up with that response?
